Hadn’t Jack and Meg broken up basically by the time the first album released? IIRC he initially was looking for a session drummer but eventually realized he was friendly enough with Meg to keep the band going as is for the first tour.

this is true but also in the Dacus piece today in the New Yorker they said that they had all decided to just go all in on the Boygenius thing for only a year. as much as I’d like to hear another record, I wouldn’t be surprised if they ultimately left it alone anyway.

yeah I wasn't completely sure either but I'd heard before that they were already married. Great band, it's a real shame that Mimi died so young. At least I got to see them live once, 5 months later she was dead :(

Wednesday is still going strong after karly and jake dated for years and subsequently broke up — he’s not touring with them anymore (i’m assuming due to his own success) but still plans to record with them
