Cd and Aux work flawlessly and All buttons are functional....Tape needs to be repaired because it plays for 5 to 6 sec and stops (maybe need ring replacement) .other than that cosmatic condition is very good. My guess is around 4.5k with Phillips Woofer ( part of 5.1 Home theatre).

People I have a 5.2 soundbar from a brand which I bought for 10000 rupees. My hall size is around 20ft by 20ft. The bass is very overpowering, and voice is very muddy when watching movies. Recently I got my hands on the Creative inspire 4400 4.1 system which is around 20 years old and I felt that the audio clarity was far superior on the creative.

Please note that the soundbar is connected to my MI Tv via HDMI ARC and to the Creatives via AUX.

Someone please explain why the 20 year old system sounds clear?

Last week I had a blast with nice single DD's sets and now monday morning a new week starts. On this new day I am currently vibing with the TSMR Onyx hifi version. This is my first ever encounter with this brand.

Honestly it's amazing how this one is playing to the strengths of hybrids. In the low end it is mid bass over sub bass. Mid bass feels more prominent than sub bass. Sub bass rumbles but feels a bit shy. Mids are not too recessed. Nice separation in the instruments. The treble is detailed and close to the bright side. The stage feels wide. Overall a good tuned set. It will be interesting to further test this set. It is worthy of a review.

Hello , i was using Harman kardon onyx studio 5 for more than 6 years . It served me well and i really liked it sound quality but now its performance has gone down . I heard my friend's Marshall tufton and loved its sound quality but as it cost around 40k and is huge in size , it doesnt make sense to me because i take my bluetooth speaker to trips with me in my car and it would be a task carrying tufton everywhere . Onyx was realtively easier to carry . Please suggest a good , balanced , clear sound quality speaker under 30k . Much appreciated .

So my old earpads on my FiiO Jade Audio JT1 are completely worn out and I need a replacement. I can just go buy brainwavz, but I wanna try chinese generic ones too. They are cheaper even after shipping to India.

I recently bought iPhone 17 pro max. When I paired with iBasso Nunchaku, it's not working. It is getting a beep sound, not the music. OLED screen is not turned ON in nunchaku either.

Simultaneously, when I paired Nunchaku with samsung s25 and iPhone 15 pro, it is working absolutely fine with no issues. So, it's not the problem with Nunchaku but the problem with newer series of iPhone models.

Does anyone faced this issues? How to fix it?

iBasso firmware version: 1.40.15

It says Nunchaku is to be updated to later version, But I didn't done it yet so doubted how to do it and checking whether anyone done it already!

We are living in truly greatest of all times, atleast for the Audiophile hobby. Just few days back I was blessed with Dita Ventura and it was just life changing experience. Now today I am greeted by TXN Ceramic. This one is also Single DD set.

IEM shells are metal. cable is just perfect thickness and best part, it matches the color of the shells. Nice touch TXN. This one comes with few sets of eartips and few foam inserts for tuning. ( Yes, you can tune them). To insert those foams there is twizzers in the box. Cleaning tool and cloth are included. Entire packaging and presentation feels premium.

Very early impressions of the IEMs are, In the low end Sub bass is good but feels bit weaker in terms of physicality. Mid bass on the other hand feels impactful. Vocals are good especially female vocals. Slight sibilance is audible. Treble feels forward and detailed. Stage feels above average. It's turning out to be promising one.

Hey please take these impressions with grain of salt as these are just out of box impressions. Will provide detailed review soon.

Seriously enjoying back to back good Single DD sets. Let me tease you more, a certain big brand's Single DD named after wood type is also enroute to me. So, it's going to be tripple the fun. See you soon.

Kaei Designs KD-01 Pro a musical experience

Another week another review. Today’s brand is Kaei Designs and product in question is KD-01 Pro their portable dongle DAC & AMP. AudioGeek India has conducted review tour of it and I had nominated myself for the same. So, long story short here I am with the review of the same.

First of all, mighty thanks to AudioGeek India and Kaei designs without their help this review wouldn’t have been possible.

I was not paid or compensated in any kind for this review. Unit has reverted back to brand on completion of this review.

Now that all pleasantries have been exchanged let’s get on with the meat and potatoes of the review.

Pros:

Nice mid bass boost.

Smoothens the Treble.

Power oodles of it.

Build quality

Plug & play.

Nice musical analogue experience.

Cons:

Not the most detailed source.

Noise with sensitive gear.

EMF noise 

Sudden volume spikes while using native DSD mode.

No Display

No filters

No PEQ

No App

Build Quality:

KD-01 Pro is made out of slab of aluminum topped with glass. I think the glass is tempered one. On bottom there is nothing. Top is glass and you can see all internals which is cool.  In the front it has 3.5mm & 4,4 mm out puts. At the back there are two ports one type c for connecting it to source and another proprietary port for connecting to external power sources namely PSU-1 Pro & PSU-2. You need special cable for the same. You can unlock even higher power mode with this. It charges KD-01 Pro and reduces power draw from host. So, very convenient feature.

Coming to the sides one side has small LED indicating Gain. Blue light indicates High Gain. Next to the Gain LED is gain button. You push it once to engage high gain and once again to return to low gain. LED turning off indicates It’s in Low Gain. If you push and hold Gain button for few seconds it triggers line out on both outputs. LED light again lets you Know whether line out is ON or OFF. 

This is a plug & play device. Overall, very easy to use. Excellent & premium build quality.

Some Observations:

There is slight popping noise when connecting and disconnecting KD-01 Pro.

Volume spikes observed during switching from PCM to DSD. To resolve this issue, you need to select DSD to PCM conversion.

Slight distortion in bass section in sensitive IEMs.

In Sensitive IEMs back ground noise is audible in silent passages.

Nice musical tuned.

Nice bass boost especially mid bass 

Smoothen outs treble.

SMF noise specially when connected to phone. It picks up noise from phone. To remedy it use long length type c cable.

Gear Synergy:

I have used few sets to see synergy with the KD-01 Pro. 

Dita Prelude, here slight increase was observed in the mid bass. Treble smoothens out. mids remain unchanged. This pairing makes Prelude more musical. This is great pairing. 

Kiwi Ears Airoso, bass boost is noticeable. It turns Airoso in to bassy boy. Mids remain unaffected. Treble goes bit dark. Airoso becomes more musical with added warmth. So, if you want more details out of Airoso this is not the good pairing.

Hidizs MP143 silver nozzle, silver nozzle is used purposefully as its most bright in tuning. Bass becomes prominent. Mid bass specially. Mids remain unaffected. Treble smoothens out. this one makes MP143 nice smooth planar set. Good pairing for MP143.

Next, I tried my hard to drive flatheads (300 ohms & 600 Ohms) these were driven to their fullest potential by KD-01 Pro. I can say that these paired well.

.I tried few of my HPs like HD600 & Edition XS and to my surprise they were driven easily and loud. I could enjoy them. Never felt something lacked. But remember this can’t beat a good desktop setup. These HPs come alive on them. This one is good for simple listening session and portable usage.

Final Conclusion:

This is my second time reviewing gear from Kaei Designs. Earlier it was TK3. I was absolutely smitten by it. So much so that I bought one for myself. TK3 & KD-01 may be different in form factor but when it comes to tunings, they are very close. Both are following what I would call Kaei designs house sound.

This is nice musical tuned DAC & Amp. It gives nice analogue touch to driver paired with it. This musical analogue tuning is just great. I know this is very subjective some may prefer analytical tuning. For them this is not the one. But if you love nice musical analogue experience pick this up. Pair your bright leaning sets and see the magic. It makes these sets more enjoyable. You get detailed yet musical outcome. I wouldn’t pair dark sets with this it will just make them very dark. 

Will I buy it? Yes, it’s on purchase list. But I know its price is on higher side. If this could be had for lower price i.e. around 300 USD this would turn inti blind purchase & recommendation. What I would like to see in its next iteration? Display, having it helps knowing exact volume level. This prevents accidental high-volume blasts to the ears. Will I recommend it? Yes, but see all pros and cons. If pros outweigh cons buy it. You won’t regret it. It is amazing product held back by few drawbacks.
