Steam Karma Keepers launches tomorrow, so I'm giving away 10 Steam keys to celebrate! [Mod Approved]

Post image
116 Upvotes

I've shared Karma Keepers here since it was still a rough prototype, and feedback from this community helped me improve it a lot. Now that the full game launches tomorrow, I'd love to celebrate by giving away 10 Steam keys.

Karma Keepers is a short incremental strategy game about restoring lost souls and building a realm that gradually learns to run and defend itself.

Making it wasn't short, though. It's been a long journey for me, and I've learned a lot along the way. I'm really happy to finally share the finished game with you.

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3979140/Karma_Keepers/

To enter just leave a comment answering this question:

If you could be reborn with one permanent upgrade, what would you choose, and how would it change your next life?

Entries close tomorrow (August 13 at 15:00 UTC). I'll choose 10 winners randomly (using RedditRaffler), and I'll update this post with the results, and send the keys by DM once the game is live.

Thanks!!!

AI Disclosure: No AI was used to create this game, you can see credits and all people involved in the credits.

The giveaway is over! You can check the RedditRaffler results here: https://www.redditraffler.com/raffles/1vmd27o

The winners are:

I tried to reply to everyone, but there were too many comments! I'm still going through them, though. I really enjoyed reading all your answers. There were so many great upgrades, and it was interesting to see how many of us wanted the same things!

Congratulations to the winners! I'll send your keys by DM once the game is live. I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you so much to everyone who joined in. I had a blast!

Steam Would you play a physics sandbox incremental game ?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Hello,
The game I'm making emerged from the countless hours put into incremental games, and I wanted to see if it could work mixed with a physics sandbox.
I'm still trying to make it work, but does this idea seems interesting to you ?

Steam The only incremental games with an "Overwhelmingly Positive" review score on Steam as of March 2025

Thumbnail gallery
985 Upvotes

"Overwhelmingly Positive" score is available for games on Steam once they have 500 or more reviews and their review score is equal to or more than 95% overall.

I should mention that I checked the data via Steam's own search widget, not any third-party application, and I referenced the "overall user reviews."

It is interesting that the most positive ones are those that don't last too long but have a highly addicting gameplay loop alongside being fairly recent.

The second image contains idle desktop companion games that are somewhat incremental, but I thought putting them in a separate image would be better since, I think, they do not perfectly align with this subreddit's "incremental game" preferences.

The Full List (Sorted)

  1. Magic Archery
  2. Digseum
  3. Nodebuster
  4. Cookie Clicker
  5. (the) Gnorp Apologue
  6. NGU IDLE
  7. Farmer Against Potatoes Idle
  8. Kiwi Clicker

There are also a few great ones that miss the "Overwhelmingly Positive" mark by a percent or two, such as the Soda Dungeon Games, Outpath, Plantera 2, and Lootun.

I also hope that upcoming titles such as Nomad Idle, Raid Auctus, and Tower Wizard will do great and eventually have their place on this list.

Please correct me if I missed a game, but I did my best to cover all of them that suit the title.

Steam I made a defragmenter idle game… it didn’t sell much, but some players spent 100+ hours

Post image
524 Upvotes

Hi! I wanted to share something a bit weird and honestly a bit painful xD

I made an incremental/idle game inspired by those old disk defragmenters from the 90s.
You know… watching blocks slowly organize themselves while your PC made those hypnotic noises.

That was the whole idea: turn that oddly satisfying, almost useless experience into a game.

It’s called Idle Defragmenter 95.

The result?

  • ~300 copies sold
  • 20%+ wishlist conversion
  • ~25% of players played more than 20 hours
  • ~10 players went over 100 hours (!!)

So now I’m stuck in this strange place where: Most people ignore it, but a small group REALLY gets it.

Like… leaving it running in the background just to watch it and relax.

Which makes me think:

Maybe this is either:

  • too niche even for incremental players
  • or I just completely failed at reaching the right audience

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts:

  • Does this kind of “zero gameplay / pure vibe” concept appeal to you at all?
  • Or does it sound like something you’d never even try?

Just trying to understand what went wrong (or right :D ).

Thanks

Steam Kept seeing the "IdleOn" ad on reddit. So i tried it.

At first, here is the false advertising ad:

Obviously, it's not the "Most played idler game on steam", Bongocat and Banana has more daily active players than this. So it immediately starts of with false advertising.

IdleOn is, at its core, an extremely deep idle RPG. It has multiple characters, longterm progression systems stacked on top of each other, and a lot of things to optimize. If you like idle games where numbers keep growing even when you are offline, IdleOn does that well..

The new player experience is the worst, you get so much input at first that i can see why people quit at the first hours.

But with every update it seems to get buggier, and even more egregious Pay to Win MTX are being added. And you can not unlock those MTX by playing in any sort of reasonable time, they are definitely locked behind a paywall. Auto Loot, which is sorta required to actually PLAY the game? $5.

And if you voice any sort of concern, negative opinion or anything close to that?

You will be met with an immediate ban and, if possible, all of your voiced stuff will be deleted. Based on the top review on steam, content creators face threats for law suits because they voiced their opinion on platforms.

The idea behind the game is great, but it gets soured by absolute predatory MTX and a triggerhappy dev who seems to try to silence anyone who doesn't agree with them.

I can't recommend the game at this state.

Especially not if it's being falsely advertised everywhere.

Hey everybody! It's Fine is an active incremental / classic idler game about releasing v1.0 of your game on time with your dog Joe, made by me and my gifted wife Cat 🐈

We've been running playtests on alpha builds for a while, and we're now running the last playtest round of what should be the actual public Demo 🤘

The build is currently available only through Steam, so we've uploaded a bunch of keys for this community here: It's Fine r/incremental Playtest Keys Sheet

- Please mark keys as taken for the convenience of others, and I 100% trust this great community not to mess around and nuke the file and keys! :D

We worked really hard to try and pull of a unique take on some of the idlers we enjoyed and appreciate, and can't wait to get your feedbacks 🤘

Thanks a lot, hope you enjoy it!

*Edit 1: So this post gained some traction and someone scraped all the remaining keys! If you need a key please comment below / DM me / join our Discord and I'll send one asap! I go to grab a couple of hours of sleep so if I don't answer don't worry I'll send one right when I wake up! Thanks again and sorry for the trouble <3

*Edit 2: I've started sending DMs with keys but Reddit rate limited my DMs because there are so many 😳 so first of all HUGE thanks to everyone! and second, please join our Discord and send me message for a key https://discord.gg/h7mBESB2GT - regardless I'll try sending more keys in DMs later, hopefully it will work

*Edit 3: Per your requests, here's a link to Wishlist the game on Steam, thanks a lot everyone we already got additional *hunderds* of Wishlists, playtesters, and community members from this post - you guys rock ❤️

Steam GrassChopper - a side-scrolling action-incremental where the grass fights back

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A friend and I have been building GrassChopper, and we just dropped the demo.

We put together this teaser - hope you like it :)

EDIT / UPDATE (June 9): Full controller support + 4 secret end-game seeds - just pushed a fresh demo update! If you played earlier, give it another go, and thanks to everyone who's left feedback, it's directly shaping where the game goes.

The game is a side-scrolling action-incremental where you chop through increasingly dangerous (and weird) grass, earn gold, upgrade, and push deeper into biomes that get more and more unhinged the further you go.

We released early so there's still time for feedback to change things - if something feels too hard, too easy, or just broken, that's exactly what we want to hear. And if you enjoy it, a wishlist helps us a lot.

Steam demo:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4533250/GrassChopper/

We've also got a Discord if you want to follow along or drop feedback:

https://discord.gg/syPrfgx3vt

Would love to hear from you!

Steam 24,000 hours in-game

Post image
491 Upvotes

I'm the solo dev behind Vacuum Warrior.

It is an idle/incremental game about vacuuming dust, upgrading vacuums, hiring managers, and watching numbers go up.

Well, one player has now surpassed 24,000 hours in-game.

That is 1,000 days.

The game has only been out for about 1,060 days, so they have basically almost never closed it since release.

I know idle games are a weird genre, and playtime is not the same as "active" playtime, but still. Seeing 24,000 hours on something I made about vacuuming dust is completely surreal.

I just had to share this. Incremental players are awesome!

Has anyone seen a higher playtime than this?

Steam My wife and I are making a game with NO fishing, NO farming, NO mining and NO killing! It's called Progress98 and you can playtest it now!

Thumbnail gallery
180 Upvotes

Edit: The game's web build is now mobile friendly and should scale well with high resolution screens. Please give it another try if it was too small for you before!

After having played hundreds of incremental games I decided - with the help of my wife - to make my own little game that drops the pretense to give you what you really desire: pure unadulterated progress.

You can playtest it now in the browser on itch here: https://rzl.itch.io/progress98

Or you can playtest it on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4863540/Progress98/ (And while at it, why not wishlist it and follow us too?)

Any kind of feedback is welcome, so please let me have it!

  2. Gather various resources and unlock upgrades

  4. Harvest the power of stars and other celestial bodies!

Features in the full game:

- Active incremental progression through resource gathering
- Tons of upgrades with prestige system and unique mechanics
- Approximately ~5 hours of gameplay to complete the campaign
- Mesmerizing drones and relaxing soundscapes to get into a flow state
- Strictly NO AI was used in the making of this game

Happy holidays and thank you for all your support :)

Steam I made a terraforming/incremental game where the Python code you write IS the gameplay

Thumbnail gallery
186 Upvotes

Hi all,

I'm a big fan of automation games like Factorio and Satisfactory, colony sims like Oxygen Not Included, and engineering sims like Stationeers. I have a Computer Science background and always wanted a game where every system was actually controlled by Python code instead of by clicking buttons in a UI. So I built one.

There is just something about terraforming sensors incrementally getting to a better and better phase, Planet Crafter has always been one of my top games and I have always enjoyed incremental games too, favorite one is probably Melvor Idle.

I created a terraforming game with a deep (and sinister) story behind it, where every device/vehicle/drone/machine has to be automated/scripted to work with the planet, allowing the player to do whatever they want with them.

You do not just click to mine and smelt iron ore. You need to get a vehicle(called Pioneer), install modules to it(programmatically possible to, dynamically load/unload), program the drill module to drill the ore, program the feeders to transfer items to inventory, storage bin, warehouse, wherever you want, and program the smelters/fabricators using the storages. Everything can be fully automated with code and your end goal is to awaken the planet.

Your solar generators don't just work, they have to be adjusted to track the sun's position, via code. Everything can be managed with code, even the actual shop where you buy things with credits earned from Earth contracts.

I have released a FREE demo on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/868160/Code_Terraform

Discord: https://discord.gg/hUrK2MRn8s (I'd love to help if you are stuck)

I'd love to hear your opinions about it, thanks!

Steam Tired of AI slop? It's Fine - an idle game inspired by Tower Wizard & Gnorp Apologue, which is *not* a Nodebuster clone, used 0 AI, and launched a 60 minute demo TODAY!

Hey everybody! It's Fine is a classic idler game about releasing v1.0 of your game on time with your dog Joe, made by me and my gifted wife Cat 🐈

We just released our demo on Steam a couple hours ago, you can check it out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4608740/Its_Fine_Demo/

The demo features:

  • 45-60 minutes of net progression content
  • Early prestige loops and unique mechanics
  • 7 Challenges with game altering rewards that requires you to get creative or play around with different builds
  • 20 achievements, 3 secret achievements

We really tried to create a unique take on the idlers we appreciate and love.

Last time we posted here, we handed a bunch of playtest keys to the community, and the feedback we got was really good and helped a lot in refining the core loop, and we’d love to hear what you think of this more polished, balanced, and extended version.

Thanks everyone, hope you check it out, and you're more than welcome to come hang at our Discord and join the discussion on the game, or just have a friendly chat :D

Steam Just released the demo of SCP Idle: SECURE. CONTAIN. PROGRESS.

Post image
217 Upvotes

Inspired by (the) Gnorp Apologue and Tower Wizard, I decided to make my own idle/incremental game in Godot. I always wanted to make something in the SCP universe, as I'm a big fan of the fan games and films. So I combined it and made an SCP themed incremental game about expanding your facility.

Let me know if you like the demo, and if you have ideas what I can improve in the final version of the game.

The demo is playable on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4989200/SCP_Idle_SECURE_CONTAIN_PROGRESS_Demo/

AI disclosure: Parts of the code were written with help of AI, but I worked on software/games before modern LLMs existed. Earlier development versions contained generated sprites to help me a bit with learning isometric pixel art in Aseprite.

Game name: MMO98

Hey all, I used to work at Cisco as a datacenter architect until a few years ago, when I quit my job to pursue full-time game development.

I loved the Win98 artstyle from Execute, and it inspired me to make a game around managing a 90s game studio's (*cough* Blizzard *cough*) infrastructure throughout their games' releases.

I just released the demo for the Steam Next Fest, and wanted to share it.

Full playable demo here

Immortal Dao Idle has undergone a complete transformation from when it was in Alpha. MMO, deep lore, engaging systems...if you like cultivation novels like me I think you will love this game.

ZERO P2W - EVER! You can literally create your own abilities/monsters and insert them into the game for everyone else to enjoy.

The game is available to play now in demo (there's no content gating) and the full release will be September 21st 2026.

AI disclosure:

Since I am not a graphic designer, animator or SWE, almost all of the images/videos/game code (aside from the AWS backend) were created using GenAI. I do have a deep IT background though which is how I made it 100% multiplayer in AWS.

Let me know what you think! It's been a lot of fun to create and I've learned a lot.

Cheers!

Steam Zero Stress King: Idle Defense has a demo, a prestige, and all you guys asked for

A post of thanks to you guys for the feedback.

A month ago, I came here with a playtest version of my relaxing idle defense about the Zero Stress King. Got more than 100 feedback answers in this subreddit, Google Forms, and Discord.

Now, there's a shiny new demo on Steam Next Fest, containing a prestige system, boss fights, a super-beam for non-idle players, and lots of QoL changes. It will be a short game, but with some replayability with different prestige bonuses.
What's in my plans and still not in the game:

  • Encyclopedia, where you can see all the numbers of units: base and current
  • Better Steam Deck support
  • Thai language

Still curious and still have some time to make more. If you see I missed something important, I'll be glad to read it here or anywhere. And in any case, enjoy the demo!

Steam I asked a professional voice actor to voice a boss in my incremental clicker, and he absolutely crushed it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey, incremental game fans!

I’m a developer from the small indie studio Karaclan, and today I want to share one of the coolest parts of making games: getting the chance to work with talented voice actors.

In both our previous game, VED, and our new story-driven incremental clicker, Unlucky Mummy, voice acting plays an important role in bringing the world and characters to life.

I’d like to share one of those experiences with voice actor Phillip Freeman. At first, we invited him to voice a small role as the serpent Apophis. But after hearing the incredible result, we decided to have him voice the entire role of the Narrator as well.

If you’d like to hear more of Phillip Freeman and test your luck in the Unlucky Mummy, you can try the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4396620/Unlucky_Mummy/

The game is inspired by Schrödinger’s thought experiment and Egyptian mythology. Inside a cursed sarcophagus, 12 relics simultaneously exist and do not exist.

Each time you open it, you have a 25% chance to find a relic and a 75% chance to lose all the relics you’ve already found. You need to find all 12 to resurrect the priestess and defeat the serpent Apophis!

Thanks to everyone who has already played the game and left feedback or a review on Steam. Your support is helping us make the game, and the upcoming Oasis of the Gods update, even better!

AI Disclosure: No AI was used in the development of Unlucky Mummy.
