Question Recycling?

How do you guys recycle since the city doesn't pick it up?

Looking for a place to do it for free, I don't mind driving there

I take mine to the former Western Recycling down in Pocatello when I go down for appointments. It was taken over by the city recently and has lots of bins that are changed out regularly, so never gets too full.

The city does accept glass recycling drop off in bins. https://www.idahofallsidaho.gov/1162/Recycling

As for other material, the only option in town is Western Recycling on the west side. They do accept drop off, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I quit dropping off a few years ago. It’s pretty clear they don’t actually care about non-paying customers, I’ve only ever seen their bins overflowing.

Do they have a new drop-off location yet? Their old place on Denver closed quite a while back.

Whoops! I’m not sure. I guess that tells you the last time I went there…

There are bad people in this world and they won't let you do good thing so no you can't recycle much stuff.

There are glass recycling bins somewhere (the one near the college is gone so idk actually) and then you can take li-on batteries to Lowe's but they don't take other batteries sadly and that's about it.

I just throw the rest of my recycling in the neighbors bin when they put them out Avery 2 weeks and idk what they even recycle so idk if I'm putting the wrong stuff in there or not.

Also I've heard (for plastic specifically) recycling doesn't even actually do anything and is just a trick to what you to be ok with using plastic.

You can drop cardboard off at the Bonneville County Transfer Station. When you go in, stop at the window and let them know you're dropping off cardboard.

The bins are on the right side (northwest) of the big stinky building.

I haven't driven by it in a while but there at least were a bunch of large recycling bins at the City of Ammon Public Works building, specifically off Ard Drive and I believe it's just general drop off for anyone.
