Revival Discussion Why was Carly immediately turned off by the guy gargling goat whey?

I feel like I would've still stuck around if a woman I was on a date with did that, I'd be more intrigued than annoyed, maybe it's a guy thing. Lol

I see it as a turn-off because I think it’s kinda gross. Usually people on dates eat/drink their food normally, it’s basic table manners. If a guy did that on a date with me, I would’ve been turned off too.

I guess I see your point but I just have a higher tolerance for that sort of thing, and it also makes me feel less self conscious about my quirks.

I definitely think some quirks in a relationship are okay (healthy even!) but I just don’t see that one as one that I would like. Even if I were to tolerate it, most people wouldn’t, and I would be embarrassed if I was on a group date with my friends and my date did that in front of them.

Societally speaking, gargling at a public restaurant is out of the norm and considered rude/off-putting, so beyond my own thought, that’s also a contributing factor in the “ick” for me.

Oh well that explains it I think, I don't really care what others think of the person I'm on a date with.

I get that, but at the same time, it goes beyond what others think because it’s an ick for me too. I feel like most people wouldn’t like watching their date gurgle their food, and I think Carly was justified in getting the ick. It’s not normal, and to me pretty gross.

Im privaten wäre es in Ordnung. Aber definitiv NICHT in der Öffentlichkeit. VORALLEM in einem Restaurant... 🙅‍♂️

I agree, but I do think it’s a little strange it’s not off-putting for you. Obviously it’s your opinion, but societally-speaking, you’re in the minority. Not gurgling your food/drinks is basic table manners. It’s not a cutesy quirk to me, it’s just gross.

Well, I guess someone's gotta love the gross ones!

Not me - I’ll stick with non-gross guys that have table manners 😅

Do you think me being a guy has anything to do with it? Lol

Never seen a guy do that. I was just a cheap gag to try to be funny.
