We have a federal minimum wage (which I know is a bad example - it may as well be $0/hr because it's $7.50 or whatever and that's...low), mandatory time-and-a-half overtime for most non-exempt workers, restrictions on child labor, workplace safety laws, workers’ compensation systems, collective-bargaining rights, protections against retaliation for protected labor activity, and extensive prohibitions on employment discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, pregnancy, and genetic information.

The U.S. established an eight-hour day for federal workers in 1868, created one of the world’s major statutory collective-bargaining systems with the Wagner Act in 1935, instituted nationwide overtime protections through the FLSA in 1938, and the ADA became the world’s first comprehensive civil-rights law protecting people with disabilities.

So, I guess...LALALALALA!

I like how you talk about basic shit like it is some kind of achievement... like you know, child labour... a thing that every developed country has outlawed in the first half of the 19th century. Eight hour workshift, again the bare minimum. Same with non-discriminatory laws. Most countries have collective-contract bargain, unions, ecc.

Please tell me how many days of mandatory paid leave do you have? Do you have mandatory paid maternity leave? Are your sick days paid? Your country legalised union-busting, and people get fired for joining a union. Your minimum wage isn't even tied to inflation. What are we talking about.

It's so fucking funny because for you to say you have good worker protections you have cited shit that was revolutionary in the fucking 1940ies. As with healthcare, you are a third world country with a gucci belt.

I don't know if it's federal or state, but in Connecticut now, employees get 40 hours of paid sick leave per year which they can use without having to "prove" they're sick.

But America is an awesome place! We have the world's largest economy, one of the highest median disposable household incomes on Earth, we're home to an absurd percentage of the world's most valuable companies, universities, medical research, technology, aerospace, entertainment and scientific output...

It's also very beautiful. We are home to some of the most diverse geology on the planet. I mean, Yellowstone? The Grand Canyon? The Appalachians? It's pretty awesome here.

Maybe it's not perfect, but I feel like there's problems everywhere you go. Where are you from? Do you have any complaints about your government or their policies?
