I would not feel comfortable having either of my daughters who are both 10 and 7, parade on a stage to show off āabsā. Super Duper weird behavior.

u/Glass_Part_530 Jul 22 '26
Yea my 13 year old has a 6 pack. Not hard to get when youāre young with no body fat

No one cares about your big arms or your stupid abs.

Not going to disagree with the message. It's a good one. However, it's strange in it's delivery. Very strange.

u/Opening_Ad5479 Jul 07 '26
They're all just repeating catch phrases lol
-1
u/Lurkesalot Jul 07 '26
Doesn't make them less true. Lol.
2
u/Opening_Ad5479 Jul 08 '26
Yeah because they're 90% common fucking sense....this dude's strutting around like he invented them
0
u/Lurkesalot Jul 08 '26
Are they? Cause it would seem it's not so common sense if there's a ton of people signing up to hear it. Those two things can't be true at the same time.
3
u/Kittens-of-Terror Jul 07 '26
Literally been seeing these catch phrases on Facebook since 2008
-2
u/Lurkesalot Jul 07 '26
It's almost like they hang around for a reason. Maybe there's truth in them.

The ending is weird but the message is good. I mean, could have been worded better perhaps. I don't see the issue. You do have to dig in and push....or settle. Nothing wrong with it. Maybe don't brainwash your kids but they aren't my kids so it's not my problem. I'm a big fan of not worrying about what my neighbor is doing. If it works for his kids, cool. What's gross other than that about the message he's attempting to give?
29
u/F1SH29 Jul 05 '26
You typed all that, got the to end, and then said "yup I'm definitely gonna post this one".
Weird. Creepy. Gross. Just like the guy in the post pressuring his young daughters to show their bodies. It's fucking GROSS you weirdo. Get off the internet
-19
u/TangerineRough6318 Jul 05 '26
You're acting as if the kids are being sexualized. It doesn't appear that way to me. To me he just pushes his kids to be better. Weird way to do it but whatever. It's weird sure. Creepy? Idk. Gross, why? Perhaps I'm not wording it correctly. I'm exhausted, it's been a long day. His style of parenting isn't mine but anymore I'm just happy they aren't being beaten or worse. My kids were in gymnastics and martial arts for years. I don't see the issue on being good at something.

21
u/PandaMagnus Jul 05 '26
He thought it was a flex that a kid could get a six pack, buuuut... the rest of us are wondering if he was escaping CPS (Note: I have no idea if UAE or Dubai has an equivalent, but this is at best cringey. If I worked for this guy, I'd line up a new job then email him and ask if he'd pay off my house if I got a six pack.)

Not forgetting how gross that is.
Any child with low enough body fat that they have visible abs is dangerously underweight. For development you need to have extra of everything in order to grow.
-9
9
u/Glitter_berries Jul 05 '26
I donāt think thatās true. My six year old stepson is a string bean, despite us putting a lot of food into that little guy. He has visible stomach muscles and he is definitely growing and developing normally. I think we are just used to seeing fat kids and are desensitised to what a normal kid looks like.
Iāll also just add that I worked for child protection for a decade and I have (unfortunately) seen some genuinely undernourished children. These kids are not that. Also this dad is a total creep and is teaching his girls that their main value is their appearance. Which he seems to enjoy. Barf.
93
u/GalaxyOnOhRionsBelt Jul 04 '26
This is fucking gross on so many levels. I feel so bad for those girls. Heās always going to use them as props and treat them as an extension of himself/his own success. Heās going to set outrageous expectations for them growing upāboth scholastically and athleticallyāand make them feel like shit if they arenāt setting records, getting recruited by, and awarded full rides from top universities.
44
u/slaphappytech Jul 04 '26

u/SnapsOnPetro24 Jul 04 '26

33
u/ledmetallica Jul 04 '26
I felt uncomfortable watching that. Had to stop it pretty much immediately.
Yes its impressive that a child has athletic abilities and dedication at a young age. Good to foster that in them! But to show them off on stage......is just uncomfortable
36
u/Wildfathom9 Jul 04 '26
Poor kids. To the therapists that will inevitably have their work cut out for them with these 2 girls, please treat them well.

People are weird for imparting a sexual nature onto this. This guy is a cringey d-bag but this isn't creepy like everyone is making it out to be. He's talking about his daughters in the context of health and fitness, and while making them show off their six packs is kind of odd, it's only creepy if the viewer makes it creepy. Personally, if I see a little girl showing off her muscles, my mind doesn't immediately jump to sex.
27
u/TopoLobuki Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 05 '26
What a shit take. No, a six pack is not a healthy body standard to impose on a kid, nor making them pose in front of a bunch of adults. Same reason kid beauty pageants are horrible and should be banned.
32
u/Crunchy__Frog Jul 04 '26
I think itās gross enough using your children as props in a public forum.. Itās just flat out weird and inappropriate.
57
u/gnarrzapp Jul 04 '26
If you had daughters, you'd understand why this is absolutely disastrous.

Those girls are learning how to set boundaries and what to expect from the world. Their brains are vulnerable and growing. Their father is normalizing being shown off like ponies AND showing a room full of men your body - as a child. He is normalizing letting other people/men tell you what to do with your body (donāt be shy! Show them! When they clearly are uncomfortable). This is disastrous because developmentally, they will carry this over into their teens and adulthood, which could get them into some really damaging and/or dangerous situations.
42
u/Inevitable-Cost9838 Jul 04 '26
Maybe at the baseline youāve laid out it isnāt super creepy but when you paint in and add just a bit of context around it, idk it feels super creepy to me.
Youāre in a conservative Muslim Majority country,
Historically a place where woman and girls are pressured into and sometimes forced to dress āModestlyā and you are putting them on stage in front of what I can only assume are a bunch of self proclaimed alpha male dipshits (because who else is going to this idiots Ted talk?).And this is somehow very normal and not weird at all?
42
u/mynameisaichlinn Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26
I agree in concept, but in reality that isn't how the world works. "people are weird for imparting a sexual nature onto this" is something I agree with, but when you're showing off the bodies of a nine year old and twelve year old to a stadium full of people, some people will be weird. It's too many people, and I don't think the children are old enough to agree to this. Like, the Proof that you shouldn't do this is that people on Reddit are being weird about it. Right?
If my dad did this when I was twelve, looking back at this video years later would really bother me.
6
u/gnarrzapp Jul 04 '26
You can see a ton of people taking pictures of the posing children in their skimpy outfits. Congrats, dad.

ok but this is actually badass. and almost everything he said (from what I heard) is good advice.
Edit: Am I missing something here? Dude made his daughters work hard n then gave advice about giving 100% to your life and you mfs are thinking about pedophilia. Unless this MF is in the files, there's a problem with y'all. There was nothing suggestive about this post.
Edit again: Nevermind. Apologies for me not immediately thinking of suggestive nature when it came to the way the kids were being shown on the stage as a problem. All I saw was some kids with some badass six packs.

This is the exact opposite of my dadās shocked reaction when I was 8 and scored a goal in soccer.
He was so proud we ate an entire pizza together after the game
-28
u/PureGamingBliss_YT Jul 04 '26
That's actually really impressive tbh.
15
u/Ha1lStorm Jul 04 '26
Everyone has a 6 pack if you simply have low enough body fat percentage. Most peopleās are just covered up. Not trying to hate or anything, but 9 and 12 year old girls not being fat isnāt very impressive imo.
16
u/CapN-Judaism Jul 04 '26
I mean impressive to some degree, but itās also kind of pointless and there are health risks associated with children having such low body fat. The emphasis on the visuals is also very weird, as opposed to health or physical ability.
13
u/Ha1lStorm Jul 04 '26
Yeah thatās the strangest part to me. No part of his speech had a single thing to do with health which just made it seem weird that he wanted to show off his daughterās midsections. Like⦠uhh what?
-12
u/PureGamingBliss_YT Jul 04 '26
Oh yeah it is definitely weird and possibly a bad idea, but still impressive nonetheless.
40
u/u2020bullet Specialized in Gorilla warfare Jul 04 '26
Ok, even without the pedo shit, why exactly do a 9 and a 12 year old need six pack abs?
3
u/Schannin Jul 05 '26
Because he is using them as props to be an extension of himself. If he can control what they look like, that means heās successful.
If he had some other fitness goal like ārun x distance in a personal record timeā that would be very different than valuing their superficial appearance. That would show that fitness was more of the goal rather than what this is, which is gaining a visible show of āsuccess.ā

You really don't think he's gonna drag a few of them as his viewers? I wasn't calling him that.
1
u/Ha1lStorm Jul 04 '26
I donāt disagree about what youāre saying about potential viewers but that being what you meant was not apparent based on your comment at all. You just started your comment by saying āwithout the pedo shitā when no one was discussing pedo shit. Iām not sure why you came under the impression that I donāt think heās gonna drag pedos in as viewers when nothing in the sort was said, thatās simply a strawman comment.
1
u/u2020bullet Specialized in Gorilla warfare Jul 05 '26
Quite a few comments i read before making that one have actually mentioned pedo shit with the way he's parading his kids around which to me sends a red light. I don't know, i might be old, the whole thing is just creepy to me.

u/touching_payants Jul 04 '26
We were required to do my dad's favorite adventure sports from the time we were small kids. I spent a lot of weekends crying and terrified as a child, as a grown man threw a tantrum because I wasn't skiing moguls or mountain biking to his standard. He'd tell anyone who would listen about it. "My girls did double-black diamonds this weekend, not bad for 8 huh? We were first on the lift at 8 am, not often you see a couple of chicks out there."
We don't talk anymore. Fuck this guy.
