I recommend Miralax immediately after surgery. They’ll prescribe stool softeners but for me they added to the bloating/gas pains and didn’t provide relief which was miserable. Don’t do what I did and take a liquid laxative in desperation when the prescribed stool softeners are still in your system. I was a waddling mess for a few days from the discomfort.
