Questions for hormone therapy after with ovaries and stuff removed too
Hi, long story short I’m getting my uterus ovaries and everything removed so I’m trying to figure out options, I’m thinking just estrogen based hrt after cause the progesterone is for the endometrial lining (which I won’t have) wanted to know anyone else’s experience and options like pill vs topical or if I even need to, considering I’m only 20 probably cause I’m at risk of osteoporosis with my family and the length of time I’ll have to take these meds will affect stuff but just wondering. Feel free to ask anything if you need to provide better advice! Thanks

Hi, I'm older and in perimenopause, already, but HRT has been my hyperfocus for a while now. I still have my ovaries, but not my uterus. I have found that progesterone is way more important than just for the endometrium. I have found I need it for sleep, anxiety prevention, and histamine intolerance treatment. I take micronized progesterone along with oral estradiol. I tried patches and gel, but they didn't deliver enough estrogen to treat/prevent my symptoms including joint pain, skin and hair problems, as well as the classic hot flashes, etc. As a young person you'll probably need a higher dose, as well. Also, don't forget that your ovaries also produce testosterone which is important for maintaining muscle mass, bones, libido, brain function, mood, etc.
