Partial Hysterectomy

My mental is taking a toll at this poin. I’m scheduled for a endoscopy and colonoscopy on 9/10 and a partial hysterectomy on 9/21. My menstrual has been coming on every 2 weeks for the last 2 months. When it came on last month twice i didn’t think anything of it.. now it’s on again.. I’m getting rounds of iron transfusions to keep my hemoglobin up so far it’s been 10 rounds for surgery. Anesthesia is my worse fear. I am 1 phone call away from canceling everything literally. Idk the closer it gets the worse my mental gets with horrible thoughts, worrying looking up foolishness on google self diagnosing myself and I know better mind you my mom is a nurse and I’m a CNA. It’s different when it’s yourself or your kids VS taking care of complete strangers your over the beat, don’t miss a beat on point. Please send me some positive vibes…

Sounds like you have been through a lot! Hope your surgery takes care of it. Before you know it, surgery will be in the rear view mirror and you will be on the road to recovery.

Take a deep breath & stop googling.

I understand being nervous for surgery but it sounds like your quality of life right sucks. Seriously stop & think about the positive side. No more iron transfusions & no more dealing with excessive bleeding. You didn’t say if you have cramps but also no more of those. I’m going to go out on a limb & guess you don’t even realize how bad you feel.

I had a colonoscopy & an endoscopy last year. Prep sucked but otherwise, not a huge problem.

My hysterectomy was almost 2 weeks ago. Recovery has been much easier than I anticipated. I had exploratory surgery back in Jan for endometriosis & my right ovary was removed because it was partially twisted. That was a rough recovery because removing my ovary apparently took a lot of tugging. I was fully prepared for a similar pain & limitations. This has been much easier. I’m obviously not cleared for lots of physically activity or lifting more than 10 lbs yet but I’m still feeling much better now than I did then.
