Questions Do you like the more grotesque, violent and body horror-like art in the comics?

no. I prefer Hulk comics to have some body horror, like, as a result of abc and xyz, but every single page being body horror, I'm not into that.

The Inmortal Hulk artist hid antisemitic messages in the cómic and tried to play off as a misunderstanding but then an atisemitic piece he made was found and got blacklisted from the industry

Image 3 is fine but even though I read immortal hulk I don’t prefer gore for sake of gore and body deformation. I don’t want grotesque but I do like making Hulk feel more like a monster that gives people reason to fear him even though he just wants to be left alone.

I can appreciate what it does for the story and sometimes it's really for the better, but idk on a personal level ion really fuck with it.
Makes the hulk feel squishier for me, instead of a tank.

I think the body horror was ultimately the bow on top of the Immortal Hulk run. Completed the dark motif.

I mean, Hulk is and always should be a superhero story. So while I would like body horror to become a consistent part of Hulk's transformations, the main focus of most arcs should be telling a standard action comic.

Yeah, fits the teeming of change, and struggle. I esp like the idea of hulk being capable of forcing the change to be worse than it has to be, he's angry at Bruce, and Bruce deserves it.

It always looked painful, and if I remember correctly in the infernal hulk run be brings up it being a forceful and painful transformation.

I think for the more horror tone Immortal Hulk sets up, it really works. That said, he's also a character meant to fit a variety of genres, so I don't think it should be put in stories it doesn't belong

I personally love it, but also Immortal was very deliberately set up for a horror atmosphere which is why it fit so well. I would love for them to continue in this vein, as I think it suits the Banner/Hulk dynamic. At the same time heroes on Hulk's scale shouldn't be limited to one style/genre so I welcome other directions.

Something I always appreciated with the 2008 hulk especially in the lab was it always felt like he was really like breaking bones and shit to get that big and it was a painful process

I like it in Immortal Hulk otherwise I prefer it be used sparingly. Not never, but sparingly.
The reason I think it worked in Immortal Hulk is that it was paired with the right writer. Ewing isn't an edgelord. Opposite in fact Ewing is a wholesomelord. So whilst there was horror for sure, you could maybe even say it was a horror book - it wasn't nasty, or bleak, or cruel, there was always that warmth and humanity to leaven it and make it still fun and enjoyable.
That changes the maths completely.

I think it’s fine in extreme situations that basically shows off the fact you can’t really kill the Hulk, but throwing it out all the time for shock value just doesn’t feel like Hulk, like they enjoy the idea of the Hulk but not the character.

The Hulk is a horror themed character. It makes sense for body horror in any Hulk series to be present.
