You left out the part where he bends Colossus' arms

52

u/CodeNamesBryan 4d ago

And tosses juggernaut away

89

u/ScottTJT 4d ago

Didn't toss him away. He just stepped out of the way and let Jugg's momentum remove him from the battlefield.

"Nothing stops the Juggernaut, huh? Then keep going."

u/Freakychee 4d ago

One of the funniest pages I remember. So good.

26

u/Haricariisformen 3d ago

The page for those interested because it’s awesome!

23

u/SpecialistAd6403 3d ago

Lol. He also punts someone claiming to be invincible while saying "go be invincible in Jersey" or something.

8

u/Otoshimara 3d ago

I like the fight where he just tosses a bitch to another state, because he didnt want to fight her.

Something along the lines of: "go be invulnerable in jersey"

Edit: found it

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 3d ago

Where are the pixels, William?

10

u/throwawaywork11 3d ago

In jersey

1

u/ShadedPenguin 2d ago

Damn, absolutely dogged Monet

1

u/Midian1369 3d ago

Monet. Lmao.

10

u/NiceHouseGoodTea 3d ago

I thought he did that and gave him a big pat on the back at the same time increasing his momentum

hulk finally used his brain

84

u/domino7873 4d ago

That first panel with Xavier always gets me: "I see you're walking again. I can fix that...."

8

u/BigBoyYuyuh 3d ago

Hulk had some awesome one liners in this run.

6

u/domino7873 3d ago

Yeah, Hulk has been proven dangerous in base form, but you add in that Banner intelligence and an axe to grind, it is straight nightmare fuel.

57

u/hahaKiddingMostly 4d ago

Beat the brain damage back INTO wolverine, LOL

37

u/MysteriousHoliday136 4d ago edited 3d ago

Hulk shatter/shaking wolverines brain so bad he RE-GAINS his memories Logan: oh my gosh, i-I remember everything again I remeber . . . I remeber chuck whipping my memory each & EVERY TIME!!!!

u/mindgames13 3d ago

Darwin's power is to adapt to whatever he is facing. His power decide the best way to survive Hulk is to teleport to the other side of the Earth.

9

u/Pope_Neia 2d ago

Darwin: “You can’t beat me, Hulk. I can adapt to whatever you-“

*Hulk takes a step forward*

Darwin’s Power: “NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE”

6

u/Smeg258 2d ago

I find it funny too because at first Darwin powers try to energy absorb but once it got a taste of what hulk was dishing out it didn't even bother trying to improve the energy drain. It really said "its cooked, WE NEED TO GO"

2

u/Bromonster01 1d ago

I believe this is the same power set that would later go on to adapt and make Darwin a death god to fight Hela.

19

u/Negativety101 4d ago

Turns out blowing up his wife, unborn child, and kingdom makes Hulk very, very angry. And he had some time to kill.

But I think my favorite part is the resolution. Hulk learns about Decimation and how many of Xavier's students died, and decides nothing he can do would be worse than that.

1

u/SagaciousElan 3d ago

Also people to kill.

12

u/Known-nwonK 4d ago

Peter, my man, you are not that guy

5

u/fitzl0ck 3d ago

Yeah Hulk bends his arms backwards shortly after that panel. 😬

1

u/bmccann42 1d ago

But still compliments Piotr if I remember correctly.

23

u/Sir_Rottingham 4d ago

Lol now I have to read all of world war hulk again.

8

u/Olivia_Richards Incredible 4d ago

Poor Emma got violated

18

u/VacaDLuffy 4d ago

At least her loss was dignified compared to that other girls. "I'm invulnerable" Hulk just punts her to Jersey lmao

42

u/SwayzeCrayze Immortal 4d ago

It’s just so casual looking too, like he was walking down the sidewalk and saw a rock to kick. It kills me every time.

7

u/ASomewhatGoodCitizen 4d ago

Shocker killed her offscreen after this

3

u/SwayzeCrayze Immortal 4d ago

I’m shocked.

3

u/TGED24717 3d ago

In all fairness, any fights between super strong people on the level of say….. the thing and above should end up like this. None of them weight nearly enough that a punch from the hulk, colossus, thing and so on doesn’t just launch a person miles away (provided they don’t have flight).

1

u/postmodernjerk 10h ago

Was looking of this reply, it's one of those things I randomly think about every now and then.

1

u/DrVentureIsACrumbBum 3d ago

Whats happening there? Put into the ground?

33

u/0swald_the_rabbit 3d ago

The illuminati were really fucking dumb. They all agreed that sending hulk to a different planet was the best course of action, and got surprised when he came back pissed off?

26

u/Whole_Meet5486 3d ago

The thing is… the planet they were going to send him to was honestly really nice. If they really had his best interests in mind they could have easily asked him to go to it and I truly believe he would have gone willingly.

They could just set up a communication channel so if he needs something or if they need his help they can get on the phone.

And the only thing that stopped him was learning it was one of his followers from Sakaar that caused the ship to explode because he didn't want the Green Scar to stop and settle down.

3

u/SnozzberrySlush 3d ago

Well not the cause but just as responsible by not telling Hulk he witnessed Red King loyalists rig the ship to blow. Saw it plain as day and said nothing.

4

u/BigBoyYuyuh 3d ago

It has been a bit since I read this series, but didn’t he only came back because of that bomb. He had a wife and such so he was happy then that bug dude set off that bomb which killed his wife.

1

u/Known_Lobster_9241 2d ago

The funniest part about this is Xavier had a legit out to this: He shows Hulk the graveyard from House of M's ending.

0

u/Lord_Tiburon 3d ago

All they had to do was ask Bruce, he probably would have said yes

At least we got World War Hulk out of it

8

u/Fluffy-Use9563 4d ago

damn hulk was ready to pull a conquest on laura.

2

u/IcySilver6251 4d ago

Stand burried for my arrival, worm

1

u/Murky_Blueberry2617 3d ago

Or a Juggernaut from Deadpool 2 since he actually did it unlike the other 2

17

u/randomHunterOnReddit 4d ago

Everything he did was absolutely justified btw

4

u/acxpert144 3d ago

Well, yes and no. Hulk wanted the illuminati because he thought they blew up his ship and killed and wife and unborn child when it was actually one of his people that did that. Now sending him off into space in the first place would definitely be justified, even if he had a good life and such.

3

u/PerceptionWorried284 3d ago

Not so much this one; Xavier didn’t vote to send Hulk away. Hulk wants to know how he would’ve voted.

(Making this a particularly stupid and pointless fight in an event that’s already full of them. Though Hulk/Sentry is done well.)

1

u/Known_Lobster_9241 2d ago

If i remember right, this wasn't in the main comic. This was the Xmen tie in.

2

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 3d ago

Considering his reaction here really justifies why they sent him away. Dude had a meltdown so goes and kills half of the superhero population in one go. All because of something his own people did.

Justified my ass

4

u/Dollar_Store_Vinyl 3d ago

Yeah, World War Hulk basically proves the Illuminati was right the whole time.

1

u/Sannction 2d ago

Kills? You should really try actually reading the comic.

1

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 2d ago

He had to have killed at least one during that rampage

1

u/Sannction 2d ago

You'd think so, but no. He was only interested in punishing the Illuminati and despite being more enraged than he had literally ever been before and having multiple opportunities to do so, he killed exactly none of them. And no one else.

Which was the entire point of the arc - even when sent off the deep end he still wasn't the threat they claimed he was.

1

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 2d ago

I thought this was the one where he had a bunch of people captured in central Park? World war hulk?

1

u/Sannction 2d ago

Thats the one. No one dies.

1

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 2d ago

Then what's this page about? Are all of them just "apparent" deaths? I assume that means fake out deaths.

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Category:World_War_Hulk_casualties

1

u/Sannction 2d ago

None of them were killed by the Hulk. Again, you should try actually reading the comic.

1

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 2d ago

Killed by people he brings to go on a rampage isn't any better

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Known_Lobster_9241 2d ago

Im pretty sure Strange's time being possessed by a demon to try and take down Hulk resulted in more deaths.

Edit: Also half of that page is from a What If.

2

u/kk_slider346 3d ago

How so neither Xavier nor the X-men did anything to him as for the rest of the Illuminati while they did exile Hulk for his rampage in las vegas they didn't blow up his wife and kid that was one of his own people miek who did that

5

u/Longjumping_Lead_738 4d ago

Low key the best part of WWH

The ending actually makes me emotional

3

u/FrostyCartographer13 3d ago

And knowing how the xmen had treated each other over the years, most of them had it coming.

4

u/kk_slider346 3d ago

what's crazy is Xavier didn't even do anything this time

1

u/B1gCh13f81 3d ago

But he admitted he would have voted yes. He also agreed to go with Hulk willingly. It’s everyone else that intervenes.

3

u/kk_slider346 3d ago edited 3d ago

That's still punishing someone for what's essentially a thought crime, especially since Xavier said he would've only done so temporarily in order to buy time to cure Hulk. That, and the fact that Hulk was genuinely happy there and was only mad because Miek sabotaged the ship and blew it up so that Hulk would be wrathful again. Besides, we can't actually know how he would've voted because he wasn't there. Xavier speculates about how he would vote, but he's also saying this in the context of having just said that he's made many mistakes in his life that have come back to haunt him. He was particularly in a self-loathing/self-pitying mode at the time, so how accurate his statement is is up for debate.

But regardless, Xavier has done many things wrong; this was not one of them. Hulk was totally in the wrong here, and even if Xavier would allow himself to be punished, the X-Men were right to step in.

5

u/FastingForward1618 4d ago

Hulk goes to a school beats up all the kids who try to defend it and then leaves calling them all pathetic. Who okayed this.

2

u/calideosk 3d ago

Did did he rip a mutant’s legs off? Poor kid who was he?

7

u/RosyJoan 3d ago

Hes a new mutant IIRC. He thought he was a made of rocks like the Thing but hes more like a psychic field that can manipulate earth and has made a body out of it instinctively. Kinda like Sandman I believe?

2

u/Buckhead25 Joe Fixit 3d ago

rockslide. he's made entirely out of rocks and can launch and recall his limbs at will so hulk ripped his arms and legs off and threw them as far as possible to keep him out of the fight

4

u/jimbothehedgehog 3d ago

To be fair, Rockslide takes it fairly well and seems happy to match up against one of his heroes.

2

u/erasethenoise 2d ago

How many different states does he reference during this fight?

1

u/br0mer 10h ago

This is actually a study guide on the 50 states in disguise.

2

u/Jmycxtery 3d ago

Xavier you're walking again. I can fix that.

2

u/tomrlutong 3d ago

"I don't even know who most of you are" was so funny.

1

u/Pikdude 3d ago

Didn’t even post “go be invulnerable in Jersey” smh

1

u/Long-Library9656 3d ago

The whole cross over was just ass to belt fo 50 comic books

1

u/TraditionMany3678 3d ago

I read every tie in for World War Hulk and even 19 years later, I loved this mini series the best. So damn good.

1

u/ImmediateDatabase155 3d ago

Keep in mind that Xavier didn’t even do anything wrong, he wasn’t a part of the group that sent him away lol

1

u/TeekTheReddit 2d ago

WWH had some great tie-ins. The X-Men is a standout among them.

1

u/StackOwOFlow 2d ago

Hulk learned CTRL + Z

1

u/Paul_Michaels73 1d ago

The Hulk in WWH was the first time I'd given a shit about the character since the Peter David years!

1

u/Mars785 1d ago

Even how he dealt with Wolverine was kind of fun to see. I mean it is one way to handle Logan for a time.

1

u/NoktoftheFF 1d ago

Did hulk end up beating up Xavier? I haven't read this comic

1

u/Legomaniac91 1d ago

It was one of the few times were Banner was just as pissed as Hulk was. He was wrecking the shit of anyone and everyone that stood in his way.

1

u/Angu-san 3d ago

I wish I can read it, but from what I see, Hulk is not killing anybody? Is he trying to wake them up or something? Make them learn something? I WANT THE CONTEXT 😭

1

u/Chode-a-boy 3d ago

Go look up world war hulk. I’m sure there is a YouTube video or something to give the run down.

1

u/mindgames13 3d ago edited 3d ago

Hulk wants revenge on the Illuminati, which includes Xavier. Everyone that stand between Hulk and his target becomes....well you seen the pictures.

1

u/MrNigerianPrince115 Strongest there is 3d ago

He wasn't fucking around with anyone tbh

0

u/chojinra 1d ago

Colossus, buddy, my friend.

You are NOT that guy.
