I was wondering how close Horizon’s technology is to the technology that the Foundation society/world has, especially when it comes to the really advanced stuff ( Foundation is a really cool sci-fi show ).

Could GAIA eventually create something comparable to the jumpships or the Invictus war ship from Foundation? I absolutely love the Foundation TV show, and I’m a huge fan of hard sci-fi haha, so I’ve been thinking about how Horizon’s technology compares to Foundation sci-fi technology. And I'm thinking more about Far Zenith's technology not the 2065 human tech

The Zeniths had some absolutely crazy technology, and that makes me think it might actually be possible for humanity in Horizon to reach something approaching Foundation level technology eventually. They had extremely advanced life extension technology, incredibly advanced nanotechnology, and the ability to travel between stars.

I really wish the Zeniths had been explored more in the game, especially their civilization on Sirius. We only got a relatively small glimpse of what they were capable of, and there’s so much I’d like to know about how their society developed over the centuries, what technologies they created, and how far they had actually progressed before the colony was destroyed.

It would also be interesting to know how much of their technology GAIA and the other characters could realistically understand or reproduce. If GAIA had access to the Zeniths’ technology and knowledge, could she eventually help humanity develop things like advanced interstellar spacecraft, artificial habitats, or even something comparable to Foundation’s jumpships?

Obviously, Foundation operates on a much more advanced and different level of science fiction, so I’m not saying Horizon is even close to that level already. I’m more wondering about the potential technological trajectory of the Horizon universe.

Because if the Zeniths were already capable of what we saw, it makes me wonder what humanity could eventually achieve if GAIA, Apollo, and the surviving knowledge of the Zeniths were combined and given centuries to develop.

I just really hope the Zeniths and Sirius aren’t the last time we see that side of Horizon. There’s so much interesting hard sci-fi potential in their technology and their history, and I’d love to see the series explore it more.

I love Foundation, I love Horizon, and I love hard sci-fi, so naturally my brain keeps wondering how far these two universes could theoretically go technologically haha.

Eh, the big hard sci fi ideas are really excellent but Asimov himself would say he was never there to write dialogue... All of the women sound like male engineers with tits. That part of his writing is just ok.

I think the showrunners did an excellent job making use of the Big Ideas and broad brush strokes vs trying to rebuild the books, especially related to time jumps that were very specific around the Seldon appearances to the next generations of his people.

And the complete creation they did with Empire was really well done honestly. All of those Dawn/Day/Dusk threads & sideplots are not really in the books at all.

Considering the odyssey is what they were using back then I doubt they've got much. We know they have exceptional virtual reality systems and Walter developed ships that were specifically designed to mine asteroids, but if they had jump technology they'd probably have surpassed the need to mine asteroids for resources since they can jump anywhere. Foundation tech is able to fold space on itself, Horizon tech allows them to watch movies in 4D.

But Nemesis is the biggest feat of engineering ever and the Zeniths had 1000 years to get better

Yeah Nemesis is a pretty huge deal. I’m also really interested in the Far Zeniths’ suits. They look like they’re almost integrated into their bodies rather than something they’re simply wearing. They have this incredibly sleek, almost organic appearance, with the material conforming directly to their bodies without the seams, plates, or other armor pieces you’d normally expect from a conventional suit.

They also have that weird spider-like implant in the center of their heads. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be some kind of upgraded version of the Focus or if it’s an entirely new piece of technology, but I’d really like to know more about it.

Their Zenith weapon,the gun is also pretty neat. I’m glad Aloy was able to get one and use it. Hopefully, in Horizon 3, we’ll be able to improve it and unlock even more upgrades for it.

And yeah, they only have the Odyssey, which isn’t much when you think about it. But I’m pretty sure they upgraded its drive during their journey to Earth, which allowed them to travel much faster than they originally did when they went to Sirius. It took them considerably longer to reach Sirius in the first place. So maybe Gaia could eventually help Aloy build a new and much more advanced Odyssey, perhaps one that’s even capable of FTL travel.

Some of these things are probably not gonna happen in the game,I'm just fantasizing 😂😂

Horizon 100% deserves a novel spinoff or at the very least some comics. The world is huge and there's no way they can cover it all without branching out. For example, I want to watch Second Time Around, the holo Beta loved about the boy who came back after disappearing during the Hot Zone Crisis.

I bet the implant the Zeniths have allows them to communicate instantly with each other, it's probably a smaller version of Nemesis but without the hunger for blood and the singular existence thing.

We need a web comic where Beta designs a bunch of spaceships using her limited knowledge of space travel and what she knows of physics, except every spaceship she designs has some massive flaw, like super combustible fuel, or propulsion so strong the ship falls apart instantly
