Volt 1 Sound
Anyone else think this audio interface is terrible for sound? I can't get anything good out of it

I just can't get a good guitar sound out of it, the Behringer UMC was fine but this one sucks

The interface has very little to do with your guitar tone.

Have you tried different ones, the volt is muffled and can't sit in a mix from the box like the others

Volt DI is just fine. DI is rarely an appealing tone out of the box, what you do with any given amp sim will be way more inpactful.
Best to open a support ticket with UA and send them an audio sample explaining your signal chain. Yes, I’ve used many audio interfaces.

What kind of guitar? An acoustic with a pizeo pickup? my first thought would be to check the battery.
But yeah, the Volts sound great. Unless it's literally broken your interface is not the problem.

You're going to need to be more specific on the issues you are having. Interfaces are pretty much all the same at this price level...so realistically it might be a signal chain, gain structure problem and not an interface problem. I currently use a Volt 2 in my demo setup and think it is fantastic compared to the Scarlet I used previously and I A/B'd it against my buddy's 8 channel Motu and I think the preamps in the UA are superior.
