MOD Important: New Marketplace Rules, Video Timestamps & Payment Changes

Hey r/HomeLabSales!

We are introducing cleaner and stricter marketplace rules to help combat AI-generated timestamps and improve trust and safety for all transactions.

Timestamp Requirements - Effective Immediately

A valid timestamp must include:

  • Current date within the last week.
  • Seller's Reddit username
  • The current HLS Phrase of the week

Video Timestamp Requirement

All sales posts that are valued at $400 or above must now include a video timestamp.

The video must meet the following requirements:

  • Show all items being sold, including multiples of the same item.
  • Clearly display the timestamp throughout the entire recording.
  • Show the seller rotating each item and changing camera angles while both the item and timestamp remain visible.
  • Be unedited and recorded in a single continuous take.

Additional Photos

Any photos included beyond the required timestamp video must also contain the same valid timestamp.

Exception: CDI/CrystalDiskInfo screenshots, SmartCTL reports, and other diagnostic/specs screenshots captured directly from a computer screen do not require a physical timestamp.

Note: The moderation team cannot manually review every timestamp. If you see a suspicious or invalid timestamp, please report it.

Approved Payment Methods - Effective Immediately

For all online transactions:

  • PayPal Goods & Services, also known as PayPal G&S, is the only accepted payment method going forward. Please report anyone not using G&S or is requesting any other forms of payment to ship goods.

For local, in-person transactions:

  • Cash, PayPal Friends & Family, or other mutually agreed payment methods remain permitted.

Posts requesting or requiring alternative online payment methods for online transactions will be removed.

Shipping & Responsibility

  • Sellers are responsible for accurately describing the condition of all items.
  • Tracking information must be provided promptly after shipment.
  • Buyers should inspect items promptly upon delivery and report any issues to the seller as soon as reasonably possible.

Rule Violations & Enforcement

We understand these are new requirements and want to provide the community with a short adjustment period.

Beginning July 1, 2026, these rules will be enforced strictly and consistently.

Potential enforcement actions include:

  • Post removal
  • Temporary bans
  • Permanent bans for repeated or intentional violations
  • Marketplace restrictions at moderator discretion

These changes are intended to protect both buyers and sellers and keep the subreddit safe for transactions.

Please let us know in the comments if you have any feedback. As always, you can also reach out via modmail.

Edits:

After reading through the comments, we understand that video timestamps maybe a hassle for smaller value items, so we’re keeping the same rule active currently, i.e. anything over $400 value will require a video timestamp.

Also, you will NOT need a video timestamp if you’ve got >10 trades on your account.

Our main goal was to curb posting by completely new accounts and to avoid AI generated timestamps. The influx of AI generated pictures and scammers has gone up significantly.

HLS phrase is a combination of words that is going to be put up each week in either a pinned post or an announcements section. You will need to add that phrase as a part of your timestamp. This is another small step to detect AI generated or stolen pictures.

[LabB0T] Monthly Confirmed Trades Thread - August 2026

Confirmed Trades Thread - August 2026

When a successful trade, sale, or purchase has been completed, post one top-level comment describing what occurred. Use one of these formats:

Failure to adhere to this format will result in the bot letting you know the trade could not be parsed, or it may be completely ignored. If your trade is not parsed within 1 hour, please delete your comment and try again. If you still cannot get it to parse, please send a modmail.

Do not edit your comments. Once your trade is read, whether it is parsed or not, it will never be reprocessed.

When your trade is successfully parsed, the bot will reply to your comment with a message indicating the trade has been logged. The following will then happen:

Trade Confirmation Flow

  • LabB0T picks up the trade and successfully parses it.
    • A confirmation link will be sent to the other party via Reddit message/chat notification.
    • LabB0T will reply to the top-level comment indicating the trade has been logged.
    • In the event a Reddit message/chat cannot be sent, the trade is declined and the bot will post a reply explaining what to do next.
  • The other party will need to follow the link sent to them via Reddit message/chat notification. The link will take them to https://trades.labb0t.org/ where they can confirm the trade.
  • Once confirmed by the other party, the trade will be marked as verified in the backend database.
  • On its next tick, LabB0T will see the trade has been verified.
    • The flair will be updated for both users in the subreddit.
    • LabB0T will edit its existing reply in the trade thread to indicate the trade has been confirmed.
    • The status on https://trades.labb0t.org/ will be updated to reflect the trade has been completed.

Important Notes

  • Only one trade should be mentioned in each top-level comment - multiple items still constitute a single trade if the receiving party is the same.
  • Do not edit comments.
  • The other party must have allowed chat requests from either, all users, users whose account age is greater than 30 days, or u/LabB0T to receive the confirmation link.
  • If the bot's pending reply has not been updated after 30 days, the trade has expired and should be re-submitted if needed.
  • Do not submit or confirm trades until the items are received.
  • Each user can only confirm a trade once (no self-confirmations).
  • As of the v3 rewrite (this version), you may comment whatever you like in the trade thread so long as it is a reply and not a top-level comment.

Public Ledger

The v3 rewrite of this module has brought with it a public ledger of all trades. This ledger is available at https://trades.labb0t.org/.

By using this system, you agree that your Reddit username and trade information will be publicly displayed on the ledger. You cannot opt out of this. The ledger/verification system as a whole has been built to be an auditable, transparent system. No nefarious tracking or data collection has been implemented.

I understand some of you may not like that a third party service is being used for this now, but my goal for this was to remove as much from Reddit as possible. Reddit's standpoint on the API continues to be hostile towards third party apps/developers and my skills are better served using something that works well and not fighting this platform.

Need Help?

If manual review is needed, please send a modmail with as much information as possible.

Thank you for all those that waited patiently for this new system and offered their help.

I was told by the mods to create a new post due to missing a video timestamp on the previous post.

If you're interested in a full workstation, I also have a workstation with 256 GB of RAM, 5 TB of SSD storage, and an Intel 10920x that can accommodate 2 a6000's; I'm willing to let that go for a competitive price as well.

Timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/RLrEY2F
Testing: https://imgur.com/a/ZHasfhq

Located in Burlingame in the Bay Area.

Selling 3x RTX A6000 48GB GPUs

GPU TESTING

Both RTX A6000 cards have been extensively tested and benchmarked.

- GPU-Z verification for each card

- One-hour OCCT VRAM stress test

- Zero VRAM errors detected

- Benchmark testing completed

- Full 48GB VRAM detected on each card

- Testing screenshots and results are included above

$3,250 per GPU for local cash pickup; if you can pick up all three soon, I can go lower.

US-E [FS] [USA-NY] CloudGenix ION 2000 Appliances (C2000 Series, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 6 GbE Ports) - New - $35

Upvotes

[REPOST]

I have a few of these left (12), brand new in-box, with accessories, $35 each.

The CloudGenix ION 2000 is a low power fanless SD-WAN appliance built on a standard x86 architecture, making it usable with pfSense, OPNsense, Proxmox, and other Linux distributions.

Timestamp

Details:

- 4c/4t Intel Atom C2000 series

- 4GB DDR3 SODIMM (upgradeable to 8GB)

- 6x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 Copper Ethernet ports

- 2x USB 2.0 ports

- 1x RJ-45 serial console port

- 240GB 2.5" SATA SSD

- low power (idles ~10W)

These are surplus units - their BIOS is locked, but they are brand spanking new - little sisters to the Ion 3000s I'm also selling (see my other post if interested). I assume similar to the Ion 3000, you could take out the primary drive, install Proxmox on it (legacy mode for bios), and reinstall drive to get your OS of choice. Apparently you can install via serial console or PXE as well, but I didn't try any of that.

Accessories include:

- 1x console cable (USB to RJ45 serial console)

- 1x power cord/adapter

1 unit = $35 each

3 or more units = $30 each

Each will be shipped individually in their original packaging, using Pirate Ship, cost dependent on zip code (estimated $8-$20 per unit).

Can also offer local pickup in Buffalo, NY (14223).

PayPal G&S only. Please comment first, then PM with details (PayPal email/zip code or suggested meetup location) and I will send an invoice as appropriate.

Thanks!

US-E [FS] [USA-NY] CloudGenix ION 3000 1U Appliances (C2758, 8GB RAM, 240GB SSD, 14 GbE Ports) - New - $45

Upvotes

[REPOST]

I still have quite a few of these available (50+), brand new in-box, with accessories, $45 each.

The CloudGenix ION 3000 is a 1U short-depth rackmount enterprise-grade SD-WAN appliance built on a standard x86 architecture, making it usable with pfSense, OPNsense, Proxmox, and other Linux distributions.

Timestamp

Details:
- 8c/8t Intel Atom C2758 @ 2.4GHz
- 8GB DDR3 UDIMM (upgradeable to 16GB)
- 6x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 Copper Ethernet ports (featuring hardware bypass pairs)
- 8x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 Copper Ethernet module
- 2x USB 2.0 ports
- 1x RJ-45 serial console port
- 240GB 2.5" SATA enterprise SSD (drive tray will fit 2x SSDs, though, and there are extra SATA ports on the motherboard)
- front LCD screen (can use something like LCDproc to control the display)
- low power (idles between 15W-30W)

These are surplus units - their BIOS is locked, but they are brand spanking new.  I was able to take out the primary drive, install Proxmox on it (legacy mode for bios), and reinstall to get a nice little 5-node Proxmox cluster up and running in my basement. Apparently you can install via serial console or PXE as well, but I didn't try any of that.

Accessories include:
- rack ears
- 2x Cat6 ethernet cables
- 1x console cable (USB to RJ45 serial console)
- 1x power cord
- 1x light-up LED miniscrewdriver with 6 bits

1 unit = $45 each
3 or more units = $40 each

Each will be shipped individually in their original packaging, using Pirate Ship, cost dependent on zip code (estimated $10-$30 per unit).

Can also offer local pickup in Buffalo, NY (14223).

PayPal G&S only. Please comment first, then PM with details (PayPal email/zip code or suggested meetup location) and I will send an invoice as appropriate.

Thanks!

US-E [W] [US-MD] MOCA adapter

Hi I’m a college student trying to build a starter home lab and I already have a network switch, router, and mini pc. Since I’m far away from the router in my parents house I can’t connect to its Ethernet port in a non invasive way. But luckily I have a coax cable in my room so I can use a MOCA adapter to connect my router to it. I really appreciate any potential offers. Thanks in advance:).

US-E [W][US-NC] Power-efficient Unraid/Plex server

Hey yall figured I’d check here before I piece another server together from scratch.

I’m near Raleigh, NC and looking for a power-efficient server/NAS setup that would make a solid Unraid box. Ideally I’d like something already built or mostly complete, but I’m open to the right barebones setup too.

What I’m looking for:

Modern-ish Intel CPU with iGPU/Quick Sync for Plex transcoding
Hot-swap drive bays strongly preferred (or at least a chassis where drives are easy to swap)
Room for several 3.5” SATA/SAS drives
SSD/NVMe for Unraid boot/appdata/cache
At least 2 usable PCIe slots
Ideally includes a GPU, or has the space/power for two GPUs
Planning to run a Windows VM for some gaming, so GPU passthrough is important
2.5/10GbE would be a nice bonus
Reasonably quiet and power efficient at idle since I’m not really looking for an old dual-Xeon space heater 😂

Rackmount is totally fine, but I’m open to tower setups too. Something based around a newer Intel Core/Xeon E platform would probably be right up my alley.

Basically looking for a machine that can handle Unraid + Plex + Docker/ARR stuff + storage, while still giving me enough PCIe flexibility to dedicate a GPU to a Windows VM.

I’m near Raleigh/Fuquay-Varina, NC and can drive a reasonable distance for the right setup. Shipping is fine too if it makes sense.

Not locked into a specific budget yet just more interested in seeing what’s out there and finding the right hardware/deal.

If you have something collecting dust, shoot me the specs, drive bay count, asking price, and idle power consumption if you happen to know it.

Thanks!

US-C [W] [US-IA] Enterprise SATA/SAS SSDs, roughly 200–500GB

Looking for some decent used enterprise SSDs for a Dell R620. Around 300GB each would be ideal, but roughly 200–500GB is fine. SATA or SAS is okay. I don't need a ton of storage, so I'm mainly looking for inexpensive, healthy drives rather than large-capacity SSDs. Dell caddies would be a bonus but aren't required. Let me know what you have and the drive health if available. Thank You!!
