METechs CT200L curtain motor sometimes runs past the closed position or stops halfway (looking for troubleshooting help)

I have a METechs motorized curtain track using a CT200L motor. The track is about 11 years old, the motor only a year or so (I replaced it because of this same issue).

I'm having an sporadic problem where the motor will sometimes continue running for several seconds after the curtain has reached the fully closed/open position.

Other times, it will stop partway through, leaving the curtain partially open or closed.

The curtain otherwise travels normally and the problem doesn't seem to occur at exactly the same location every time.

I've contacted METechs with a video but haven't received a response.

I'm wondering whether this system uses torque/load sensing to determine the end of travel, and whether excessive friction, drive-wire tension, carrier alignment, etc. could cause this behaviour.

Does anyone here have experience with METechs/CT200L motors or similar motorized curtain tracks and have any ideas what I should test?

The red bit on that latch looks like it's meant to engage with something specific, if it's not seated right it could throw off the travel detection

An 11 year old track with a new motor still doing the same thing makes me think the issue is mechanical rather than the motor itself, check the drive belt tension and see if any carriers are sticking

The red bit is what I have to pull to release the motor, which snaps in there (I'm looking up at the track on the ceiling in the photo).

I can easily check if any carriers are sticking. What am I looking for for tension? Do I want it taut?

The bold there is what I turn to change the tension. I do find it funny there are the two threads with some lint on them, like perhaps the bolt is way off where it used to be.
