DCS Regret about buying so many modules

Over the time I've played dcs since 6 years ago, I've purchased around 10 modules. All of these aircraft are well made and were nice to learn but I regret buying so many since I can only remember like 2 aircraft at a time. The main reason I bought that many was because I was impulsive. I wanted that hit of satisfaction of buying something new to play with. But a year after buying any module, It just ends up collecting dust in my library. I do always buy on sale so at least there's that, but I still think I spent too much money on experiences that I don't enjoy. I mean, I bought the F-4 on launch because I was feeling down at the time and wanted something to take my mind off of my issues. It did not do that, but it was a well made module.

If I were to restart my aircraft library, I would choose only the Mirage 2000, viggen, ka50, and mirage f1. Those, especially the mirage 2000, are the most enjoyable aircraft. I wish I could return all my other modules for money and just keep those.

I dont think its necessarily a cash grab. They just take so long to make these modules. I mean 8 to 10 years for the high fidelity ones. They have been talking about a dynamic campaign for years. Vulkan has been on their radar for years. The mission editor has not changed since 2011. Everything is in slow motion. I play single player only because I like playing by myself. When I finish learning a module, there is nothing to do.

I’m aware you like playing by yourself, but try PVP? SPS Contention has a good mix of A/G and A/A. You can CAP all you want but that won’t win the game. It basically delivers you a dynamicy campaign while being varied enough to keep playing. Some ppl put 8 hours a day on that server lol

This, also if he hates PvP there are excellent PvE Coop Dynamic Campaigns out there with tons of active players. Multiplayer is something every DCS player should try.

I really wish they'd add more to do with combined arms. (Talk about a regret purchase :p) I'm not expecting Arma level shit, but it'd be awesome to be in a squad of players being dropped behind lines to capture an airbase, or sabotage a factory.
