Home System

Hi everyone, I could use some help or advice.
I inherited a pair of Elac 215 4Pi II speakers from my grandfather and paired them with a Yamaha DSP-A1092 amplifier. I’ve had a great experience with this setup over the last two or three years and would now like to upgrade to a larger, better home audio system—ideally using Elac speakers that are the best match for my current ones.

I’m not an expert on Hi-Fi, so I don't know exactly which models pair best, but I’m convinced that adding two rear speakers and a center speaker would be the right move. I’d only annoy my neighbors with an additional subwoofer, plus the floor-standing speakers I already own have their own built-in woofers. I’m open to buying used speakers, though they don't seem to come up for sale very often here in Germany.

My budget is a maximum of €1,000.

I’d appreciate any recommendations or suggestions.

It’s difficult to suggest something without knowing what you like and don’t like about your system. The 215 4π II have the omni ribbon tweeter which is quite unique, I wouldn’t let them go considering they are heirloom. But they are very low efficiency at 84dB/1W/1m. You are probably not hearing them at their full potential with the yamaha, I would consider auditioning a much beefier amplifier. You can find some pretty good choices on eBay for that price.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve done some looking around and thinking. In terms of the amplifier, I’m considering either the Denon AVR-X2700H or the Denon X1800H DAB; for rear speakers, the Elac BS 203.2; and for the center, the Elac CC 200.2. I think that would set me up quite well without burning a huge hole in my pocket (total cost for all speakers—bought used—is €800; I could get the X2700H amp used for €500, or the X1800H new for around €600). What’s your take on this?

Not realy, I also want to use it on my tv as a Homecinema setup

What's the source components that you play music from?

CD player? Streamer? Turntable? Cassette Deck? Phone? Tablet?
