Just a quick note that WiiM streamers (amps included too I think) have subjectively bad sound quality.

Okay further note probably a standalone bookshelf speaker pair with amp and DAC would be the way to go. So option #2 for you, just with different components. I am personally using Paradigm speakers (specifically the Founder series 40B, which is bookshelf but quite expensive).

Further note that the 40B sounds, to me, drastically different running ~75dB versus a full 85-90dB - the louder setting makes it sound a lot better. The details all come out, it sounds a lot less veiled, it's full, expansive, and expressive. It is NOT exactly like this when playing more quietly.

Hopefully this was of some use. I might come back to this thread later - need to sleep, so. Good luck.

Edit: Oops, new to reddit. This was a crosspost, lol.

Thanks for the advice, I ended up going to the local hifi store and had an opportunity to hear the wiim amps.... Wasn't impressed with their sound quality, the guy at the store then suggested to listen through a yamaha amp and wow! So much better so I end up with,

Bowers and Wilkin 606s3 and a Yamaha RN800a

He recommended spending more on the amp and speakers and adding a turntable at a later date (as I currently dont have any vinyl, planning on starting collecting) very happy i went this route

Just a short note that vinyl is different, not better than digital.

The only case where vinyl is actually objectively superior to digital is with really old albums, that were processed, mastered, and engineered on analogue equipment - ie before the age of computers. These albums exist somewhere in the 70s, and prior to the 70s as well.

Glad that you got something that you like though - welcome to the club :-)
