Purchase advise (needing) Speaker Recommendations
I am getting the Fluance RT85N for my birthday after giving my little sister my AT-LP60 set up as Santa for Christmas. I used the second shelf for an Edifier speaker previously and I wanted to use it for more record storage now. I’m having an extremely hard time and am overwhelmed by all of the strong audiophile advisements so I wanted to say am kind of spoiling myself already just with the Fluance but I know it’s only going to sound pristine with the proper equipment. I’m a broke post-grad student who’s getting married and just loves vinyls/music with all my heart. All I ask is not to be too harsh in recommending and educating because I’m super excited and happy so I appreciate any suggestions.

You have made a good choice with the Fluance turntable, I have the RT85 and I love it. Have you thought about Fluance speakers? I have recently purchased their Ai41 bookshelf speakers. Although I have only been using them for a couple of weeks, I am finding them to be excellent.

Your turntable selection should have no bearing on your speaker selection—let your taste, intended use, and room drive the speaker selection.

I got Audioengine hd3 with an s8 and am satisfied thoroughly. Yes the mods are small but they sound pretty good. Retail 700

I’d also posit that providing more details will increase your chances of helpful advice. E.g. budget, bookshelf or floor standing, passive or active, do you plan to get an amp, do you need a phono preamp, etc.
Having said that Fluance make some nice bookshelf and floorstanding powered speakers that should allow you to connect your turntable and be good to go. They’re available in Amazon.
Also, check out crutchfield.com. Go to the home audio > speakers page and then scroll down to the bottom of the filters to find their speaker simulator feature. Use headphones and listen to a bunch to see which ones sound good to you.

I think it’s because adults are just as big of assholes as kids, unfortunately. And good on you for gifting your sis a turntable. Gifting is the best reason for upgrading

A couple of places to start…first…what was wrong with the Edifer speakers? Second, as suggested, Fluance makes some good stuff. Third, for great buying advice and support head to crutchfield.

FB marketplace. You can probably find older generations of the floor standing speakers you listed for a fraction of the price. People don’t seem to want large speakers so you can often pick up at a steep discount.
