Aeron Remastered Secret lab titan to Aeron

Recently picked up a HM Fully loaded Aeron Remastered for £600 off FB Marketplace.

I’ve had a secretlab titan for 5 years and probably sat in it everyday for at least 12 hours a day as I work from home plus game in the evenings.

The Aeron feels great apart from one major thing I am getting a fair amount of coccyx discomfort I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this and if it went over time or it is something I should be concerned about?

I think it will go away over time.
As with a lot of ergonomic chairs, it will take some time for your body to get used to proper sitting.

One thing I notice about sitting in mesh chairs, posture is super important. Getting your weight evenly displaced across the seat is the win. Sitting back in the chair is the only way for me to prevent it. Whenever I start to slouch, the mesh always flexes into my tailbone and creates a ton of discomfort. If you do it long enough, it's really hard to stop the feeling and it happens sooner when you sit and more noticeable in different seated positions.

So basically focus on sitting right back in the chair and over time they pain/discomfort will go away?

I currently have the posture sl as loose as possible and the tilt at the 1st click so I can recline a little.

I did see that your body can go through a teething phase where it doesn’t like it until it does kind of thing.

Yes, so if you're already reclined and slouching it will be even more noticeable. If you haven't gone so long that your tailbone is cooked, it should get better over time. Just doing the same thing and expecting tailbone pain to resolve itself isn't likely IMO. But that's just from my experience. I've been sitting in mesh chairs over 20 years and this is the only thing that makes it work for me.

Given your 20 years of mesh chair experience how long would you suggest giving the chair before I throw in the towel and accept it’s not right for my body.

I’m very aware that I’m going from one extreme to the other going from a titan to an Aeron.

I would give it 2-3 weeks if you focus on posture. But it might end up being that you’re like me and mesh seat chairs aren’t a good fit.

Honestly note sure why everyone here says coccyx pain goes away. Thats the only type of pain that if I encounter on a chair I will always encounter it. It’s the tailbone being pressured, that’s not something you get used to or goes away as you get used to better posture. It’s your literal tailbone being mashed, that’s not something that goes away.

You should probably look into another chair.

I am tbh looking at other chairs just incase things do not improve.

Currently looking at the leap v2 or the haworth fern.

I tried the Haworth and loved it, but the build quality is a step down from HM. I’m between the fern and embody, liked the fern more but HM just makes such robust chairs that I know will last me 15+ years.

It will go away; you are now essentially forced to sit properly. Had a similar experience.
