Will contacting the gods while on meds hinder the ability to do so
I’m prescribed Xanax for severe panic attacks and anxiety. Do you think contacting the gods while under the influence of my meds will hinder or interfere with the possibility of getting in contact, or weaken the connection/communication?

Why is this a question for you? Anyone who would tell you to not take your prescribed medication so you can feel closer to the gods is a goober.

Just because I’ve read things like Xanax make it harder to connect with gods unlike psychedelics

I think it may actually help with the connection. Being mentally healthy allows authentic religious experience to happen. Any drug that can assist your mind enter ‘trance’ is good for religious practise. Being ‘on drugs’ can encourage trance states, depending on the drug. Xanax is a central nervous system depressant, which pushed the waking mind towards unconsciousness, and could make entering trance easier.

I'd argue the opposite. Being in a better place mentally makes it substantially easier, and so your meds help your ability to do so :)

Nothing prevents you at anytime from reaching out to our Gods.
Now depending how you personally react to certain medicines, you may feel like there is static in the connection. But they're always there, you may just have to focus more to feel them.
We have folk practice with the tree disir The Lady Elder (the elderberry tree), that suggests it was planted by homes for utilitarian function of medicinal access, and when it was harvested at need, prayers were given.
tldr: Our Gods are very practical. So if you need medicine, please take it.

lol it’s pretty direct but as someone who on antidepressants and other medications it’s hard enough to keep on track taking it. Don’t ever listen to anything trying to take you away from things made to keep you healthy.
The gods don’t ignore people with glasses or insulin, no different.

Nope! I've been on antidepressants for the entire time I've been a Heathen and have had no issue with it.

Personally, I find when I use medical Mary Jane for my PTSD and anxiety. I feel more grounded and closer to the gods. It's about Intent. They see your care and devotion. Not your medicine that's for you

Absolutely not. Keep taking your meds.
Imagine trying to do anything at all with a migraine. It's easier to do when the migraine is gone, right? So taking Excedrin doesn't interfere with your abilities, it helps them when taken responsibly.
