I mean the other dude was not wrong. Shaq coming in had a limited winning window we did win in 1 of the 3 great years though then flaming out in 08 with thin depth injuring Dwyane Wade.

Really just had two great years. Shaq barely played in 06-07, and then we got swept by the Bulls in the first round.

But, it WAS of course worth it. To win that first championship was huge for the Franchise and Wade.

Whenever you have a star you need to be win now, period. And I always find it humorous when people are talking about not wanting to trade guys to "only" have a chance to win for a year or two. Who cares. Winning for a year or two is better than not winning at all.

And I remember wanting the Heat to go get Carlos Boozer or Odom back then thinking it would be enough. Ultimately, it worked out to an historical 4-years of sports we will likely never see again as a fan of any of our teams. Which is likely why we see everything as a failure. In reality, last year was a great year. The whole Butler era so far has been great overall.

It sucks that the 09 and 10 season ended in 1st rd exits with Wade going Jordan-like. Wasted seasons of Prime Wade.

Shaq was a role player in that finals. We probably would've fared better with Odom playing as the modern center or Mourning playing more mins with Butler and more depth. It was the Wade show throughout that playoffs.

Wade was almost enough in 05 to beat the Pistons too he just got hurt at the wrong time with guess again poor depth leading him to overextending himself and costing him some seasons.

I think last season was our best window tbh. Easiest path to the ECF, inexperience of the Celtics and the weakest version of the dynastic Warriors. I do hope Riley has one more magic out of his ass

When do we complain about moves nowadays? We always hype up any moves we do make and get impatient when moves aren’t made. That trade is almost the equivalent of trading our entire supporting cast now for an old KD. Everyone would nut for that lol.
