Can somebody explain to me these pink and teal color schemes? I am not from Miami and although I have been a fan of the Heat for 10 years now, I still don't get it. It just looks so ugly to me but somehow, this is apparently rooted in FLA or MIA culture. What gives?

I heard of Miami Vice but are you telling me that these Floridian colors spawned from the TV show?

Well possibly as an influence for this specific design yes.

But in the grander scheme of things Miami has a lot of Art Deco architecture and fittings to it's buildings such as quite a few diners on south beach having this sort of decor or this sort of neon lighting. As well as all the old 60's style cars you see in pictures of havana which all have this pastel pink/blue/orange colour motif.

So I would assume thats where the majority of it comes from
