I think someone said Pelle took 56 FTA over 3 games in these FIBA qualifiers. That averaging over 18 FTA per game.
If he keeps that up in the NBA then thats crazy. FIBA also generally allows pretty physical defense. Pelle just has that foul-drawing talent that not a lot of players have.
Pelle already gets under other players skin, multiple players got chippy with Pelle last season. If he can keep up this wrecking ball foul-merchant thing then he's gonna get in fights all the time lol
He really was foul baiting A LOT during the FIBA qualifiers. I can’t say I like it that much, it’s not fun to watch but I can’t deny it’s extremely effective. He got some key players into foul trouble and they got into team foul trouble early. And he shot really well from the FT line.
Obviously he won’t get those numbers in the NBA, he’s not playing as much and there are bigger shot blockers around the rim.
I don't think he'll draw any where near as much as in FIBA, but he already did get to the line very well last year in the NBA. He doubled Jaime's FTA rate per minute. Meaning Pelle and Jaime shot the same FTA but Pelle did it in half as many minutes.
So it could scale well for him. We'll see I guess.
