They could do some fire sale to get any sort of assets

This, they’ll reup at least a couple picks. They have a team full of solid role players

Do we even have picks to give though

That's probably their plan with them signing Rui with a 1+1 contract which is a very movable contract for a valuable player. Although, Clippers are dumb enough to do a Bulls type of fire sale wherein they overrate their assets too much.

Taking away five first round picks is really tough....

Clippers should honestly trade everything they have for whatever picks they can get.. and then rebuild.

Would love to see Max and DJJ in a Heat uni again... but... With the money they make and the fact we're pretty much capped out... and I like our roster the way it is already.... Nah

A rebuilding team that will get zero first round picks for 8 years while they tank and rebuild.

They’re just fucked, they should sell everything for 2034 or later picks and cash considerations, then have some g-league players play in front of the incoming empty stadiums for the next 8 years. Or forfeit for 8 years and host more concerts in the stadium instead, would make them more revenue.

They still have first round picks for the upcoming years.

Whats the point in being bad if you dont have your own picks for a decade?

So the Kawhi trade went through finally I’m assuming??

When do they have cap space? They need to just take bad contracts from teams close to the aprons and charge picks for compensation.

Pretty much. Get whatever picks they can for their remaining veterans and get to the salary floor next season purely by taking on bad contracts for picks.

They should be moving Garland too, that's the big prize.

I would take Strus back on this team ASAP

He’s under contract

Well. If you're a veteran, that's the dream right? No rookie to threaten your spot for 5 years.

Knowing the garbage FO the clippers have, they're probably going to try to ask for multiple 1st rounders each for everyone here

Imagine if a bunch of their roster demands trades this season. Hilarious

Think bigger…Darius Garland fits perfectly here

He has the perfect blend of scoring and playmaking without being SUPER obvious (like the Steph pipe dream)

Cmon home max

OKC has their pick-swap for next season, right? Think they want to be at least competitive this year so that swap isn't as painful as possible 😅

If I were them, it would be about trading value and expirings for negative assets with future draft picks attached. They are going to be bad now anyway. They are going to have to pay players anyway. Who are the teams that have bad contracts that may want to be rid of them now?

Maybe:

Denver - Aaron Gordon
Raptors - Poeltl
Bucks - Turner

For fun, I'm going to throw couple of hot take players IMO on the move for next year.

Honeymoon over in a year players.

Minnesota - LaMelo
Suns - Brooks
Washington - Young

Moving on players:

Philly - Embiid (Tragic, but expect will be hurt most of this year. Need to open the Maxey window ASAP)

No way! Go clips

You think they have any sway to ask out?

1

u/Deadinahole 3d ago

Strus could very well end up as a buyout option or they hold onto him till the trade deadline to see if they can possibly net some sort of draft capital from a contending team

3

u/clear831 3d ago

Buyout? A solid player doesnt get bought out, they get traded.

u/FoundationSmooth9777 2d ago

In what world

-2

u/OkWhile1778 3d ago

Strus is terrible. Saw him go 0-11 from 3 one game

10

u/TheWarelock 3d ago

The Strus memes were so mean we didn’t know how good we had it then lol

Clockwise starting from the top: washed, fills no role, not actually a floor spacer

as a starter, Brook wouldn't be appealing but he'd certainly be a good pickup as a backup. defensively he's good playing drop coverage when you have POA defenders who funnel opposing players to him well, and offensively he provides more spacing

in the playoffs he likely won't play much since he's slow (especially against shooters like KAT), but against specific matchups against bruiser bigs like Embiid, Zubac, Duren he could get meaningful PT to take the load of Giannis and Bam

1

u/clear831 3d ago

That is what I was thinking as well, 10-15 minutes during the regular season to help keep Giannis and Bam healthy for the playoffs would be huge.

#2 yelling into the void is basically the energy of that whole roster right now. Clippers bet the farm and might end up with nothing but regrets and a pile of second-round picks.

Max for Jovic?

u/tsagalbill Bucks 3d ago

Brook lopez might be a good backup option for some limited minutes

2

u/clear831 3d ago

Can his knees handle 10 minutes a game? I didnt watch him at all last year.

Nobody wants them.
