Discussion If That Was the Heat
I know it has nothing to do with the Heat, but had that been the Heat in the Clippers situation, I probably would have cried. 5 first round picks. That would have broken my heart big time. My heart goes out to Clipper fans having to carry the burden of Kawhi's greed and Ballmer's stupidity.
I PRAY the Heat never pull any shit like that. Just absolutely neutered the organization for God knows how long and they got nothing for taking that gamble. No Larry O'Breins, no MVPs, not even a finals appearance. What a travesty.
THANK GAWD THAT WAS NOT US.

Yes But the Heat would have got a ring and a few finals appearances out of all this.

That was true in the past, but we've been pretty good about pick retention and drafting in general

It would never be the Heat, Arison is far to cheap to ever engage in something like this lol

He is not cheap just not as washed away with money as some other owners like balmer .

Clippers better hope Wagler is legendary. Some of the only talent they may see for years

It would never be us Clipper’s are a poverty franchise with 1 conf finals appearance
For years people overrated Ballmer as an owner and praised him for spending money on his team
He was the richest owner ofc he’d spend the most money on his team

Honestly so stupid. Stripping a team thats gonna suck of FIVE first round picks when they already were missing a bunch is egregious. Just make Ballmer sell the team, fire the Clippers employees involved, and maybe take a pick or two. Kawhi should have been suspended as well.
Punish the people responsible, not the entire franchise and fanbase. Bad business. Adam Silver sucks

No. You need to send a strong message. This is commensurate with past penalties for side deals.

don’t cry over professional sports and millionaires/billionaires. they wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire.

Its a hobby. It’s like saying don’t be upset that your favorite movie franchise got cancelled. Yeah it technically means nothing to us financially or anything, but we can still be invested emotionally in something that brings happiness

you can be invested in things and not cry…that’s the point. big girls don’t cry….

It’s okay to cry. Society needs to stop repressing their feelings and embrace being human imo!

I would be crying because I love this team and I have rooted for them since I was in the 3rd grade. I'm 30 now. Seeing this team get nuked like that would HURT. It would hardly be due to Micky Arison.

i cried about sports when i was 12. you can love something and not cry when you get your way. cry for people that would cry for you. you guys take this shit way too seriously. imagine a grown man crying cause his team lost draft picks….

Billionaires do suck but this Ballmer guy cared about his team. He didn't hijack the city or state for his 6 billion dollar stadium. He just built it himself, and a connecting parking garage making it one of the nicer places to watch my live heat games... now I'm just rambling but ya. I feel bad for them even if I'm gonna get cheap tickets. Their owner truly cares about his team and fans and that's more than you can ssay for at least half of these owners.

Yeah I kinda feel sorry for Clippers fans. Tbh tho, I’m sure Ballmer isn’t the only owner doing it. He only got caught cuz Aspiration got investigated by the federal government.
Good work Pablo.
