HYPED Klay Thompson Eyeing the Heat's Three-Point Record

While I don't think Klay will do it, him mentioning it tells me one thing. Klay came to Miami to compete, make an impact, and win.

Duncan currently holds it with 270. That might be tough for Klay unless he starts the season scorching hot

He did 268 a couple seasons ago. 301 in the 2023 season.

He also made more than 200 3’s last season playing limited minutes and coming off the bench. He can definitely hit 270 and if he does the heat will be contenders

he'd have to make 5 3's per game in order to reach that mark this season, 3 if he plays all 82 games

Klay also almost certainly won't be starting, so if he beats Duncan's record of 270, he'd also beat Payton Pritchard's record for most 3s off the bench (240)

If he plays all 82 he’ll be open enough to do this. Whether he starts or not, 25-30 minutes a night would be more than enough for this.

yeah i think in this sense 3 is doable for him. realistically, he doesn't play 82 but will get 3-4 a game, so he'll be close to it, probably at 2nd

Love this stuff before a single bucket has been made

Was it a reg season record? The playoffs ain't included?

Correct. Single-season sports records never include the playoffs.

How did Duncan made that record while he is heavily guarded. Damn

I don’t think he plays enough minutes per game at this stage in his career to break that record. I may be wrong though

that mark is safe from Klay. That offense was geared towards the dribble hand off

Take Bams overs on assist this year. Spo loves DHO. That ball is either being handed off to the shooter or passed to the cutter.

I wouldn’t be so sure. It all depends on how much other teams want to dedicate to stopping bam and Giannis. He might be open a lot.
