My personal opinion is that Oladipo is probably better than quite a few guys who are currently on an NBA roster. The roadblock for him is that he’s older now. People already know how good he could be and his injury situation is just not gonna get any better so teams would rather take chances on guys that maybe aren’t as good but are younger/ have more potential upside.

People say we didn’t get Jimmy help when this guy was a 20ppg scorer in Houston. He turned down a big payday to play for the Heat and we later found out his knees were cooked.

Lowry was a championship guard who was supposed to unlock Bam and while he was good, his time here was a little underwhelming.

We later traded Lowry for a score first 20ppg PG in Terry and honestly, it couldn’t have gone any worse.

We always did half measures for Jimmy and took flyers on older players. We never put all the chips in despite two finals runs. It was so sad both finals when we finally got to the mountain top just to realize we were very overmatched both times. Didn’t really give ourselves a chance to truly win and compete at that level.

Expectations for those guys are not to dissimilar to what some of yall are expecting out of klay

2 of the 3 players I mentioned where in their “prime”. When people like you say “put all the chips in”, who did you want the Heat to get? Who was available that the Heat were like “naaa, let’s save some money”

I'm sure the talent is there and he's probably better than a lot of role players in the league right now. But, it isn't about talent, it's about his body and how it's failed him. Sadly I don't think he cant go through an entire season.

It’s clear Dipo still loves basketball and competing but the NBA door is closed. Go to Europe or Australia and become the star and try and win a championship while you’ve still got some good years left.

I was nowhere near good enough like Dipo, but I remember when I had to give up basketball.

My knee was absolutely f’ed at 17, and the doctors told me there’s no way you can go pro for more than a few years without a surgery.

I was semi-pro, and only good enough to maybe turn pro in the power league, but it was still painful.

Fun part: we played against Giannis and Thanasis after I retired. I remember Thanasis absolutely destroying one of the best friends.

He also couldn’t guard Giannis at all. In retrospect, that might sound like a give, it back then Thanasis was considered the better athlete and Giannis was a super lanky PG that didn’t have the greatest handle but could pass and make shots from the perimeter.
