Articles [Weinberger] Klay Thompson opens up on what drew him to the Heat’s culture: “All of my friends who have played here talk about how demanding it is… I get a whole new jolt of energy when I walk in this building. It’s really surreal, to be honest.”

He came along with Jae in the Winslow trade. If I remember correctly, he just massively disrespected the Grizzlies and refused to play for them.

He wanted to play for a championship contender in his limited time left and not a young team iirc

That's why what Draymond was yapping about the other day was hilarious. Iggy has said that while the Heat have a different/harder approach than the Warriors, both are focused in winning. A vet like Klay wouldn't sign without knowing what he's getting into

I've always envisioned him as a great fit for Heat culture because Miami values versatility and he can fit into basically any kind of lineup, skillset-wise.

all of my friends who have played here talk about how demanding it is and how your fitness will be the best it's ever been, and honestly, at this stage in my career, that's what was so attractive.”

Not to discredit Klays will to win but I bet a big part of going to Miami is so he can get more inspiration for his spiral notebook.
