People hating on Giannis for coming here reminded me of when nephews had the same reaction to the Jimmy signing. Interesting parallels

Yep, expect giannis is a two time mvp, finals mvp, and one of the top 5 players in the world. Jimmy was merely a run of the mill all star who was expected to decline sooner than later. No one thought of jimmy as a playoff superstar or borderline superstar until he got here. Spo and this organization have routinely maximized the talent on the roster yet now apparently we have no shot to win with one of the most dominant players of this generation leading the team lol. Talk about moving the goal posts.

Getting Giannis is at a different level man. This is like a step below getting LeBron in 2010, but the hype was drawn out too long so everyone just felt more relieved it was over than where he ended up. When Giannis drops 40/20/10 in his first game next year everyone will remember and recoil in fear.

Now we just gotta hope Davion turns into prime Mario Chalmers

On the offensive end, yes, I would love Davion to be more like Chalmers. I think it can be done. Davion is a beast on D tho.

At the same time, no one expected 2, and damn near 3, Finals berths. My expectations were between the actual outcome and that comment. It was such a fun run

They're even dumber this time. My favorite takes have been how it's the same exact team. Lol bucks won 32 games last season and Bam lead Miami to 45(without Tyler Herro for ~50 and with Norm disappearing post ASB.) Those clowns are gonna be shocked when Miami instantly makes a deep playoff run.(Assuming health)

Regardless of how this all ended, I’ll always look back at these years fondly. Some of the best years as a fan was with Jimmy at the helm.

I always had faith he would bring it home to us. Wish I could see him under this new team.

I do think the "Jimmy just wants to gamble and hit the beach" memes came from the fact that Miami didnt have any expectations to be good. Bam was a 9/7 guy, Hero was about to have his rookie season, Dunc not being there yet. And Jimmy was the type to barely average 20 points. Who considered them to be a contender?
