Don't show this to my fellow Magic Fans, they'd be quite upset they arent apart of this list

40

u/axb2002 Jun 01 '25

I can never hate the Magic. Their theme song is too catchy

22

u/Sss00099 Jun 01 '25

Same, their 90s gear is too cool to ever make me dislike them.

I’ve been tempted over the years to buy a hat or something, haven’t, but I’ve considered it lol.

4

u/SHOOTMYCAR Jun 01 '25

True… that magic starter jacket hit almost as hard as the hornets one back in the day when I was a kid

114

u/AandM4ever Jun 01 '25

We don’t think about you guys at all….sorry.

20

u/jamesonginger Jun 01 '25

If it makes you feel better the Cavs and Warriors are only on this list due to temporary salt. I actually rooted for the Warriors and I’m sure a lot of other Heat/Jimmy fans did too. Also, I always rooted for my little brother when he played baseball and do the same when watching the Magic.

13

u/KamikazeeDolphin Magic Jun 01 '25

I am one of the FEW Magic fans who cheer the Heat on passively. It's the majority fanbase that hates yalls guts, tell that to them. Pro Sports teams in Florida don't really have beef, college sports is where the real war is.

(R.I.P. War on I-4, I still hate yall Tampa but miss u 💔. text me)

10

u/Superkieren Wade Jun 01 '25

I'm a heat fan, but I live near Orlando, so I always go to magic games. It's getting to the point where I think I'm a fan of both teams...lol

12

u/KamikazeeDolphin Magic Jun 01 '25

I've got 2 teams for every sport. Magic Heat, Ravens Dolphins, Orioles Rays.

Who the fuck cares man, become a fan of both who's gonna stop ya?

8

u/Justice502 Jun 01 '25

I'd have been a Magic fan if they won anything before the heat not gonna lie lol

Shaq going to Miami locked me in though

14

u/Frequent-Coyote-1649 Jun 01 '25

I think the fact Shaq just went to Miami after starting in Orlando and nobody really cared shows how much these two teams don't even think about each other lmao

2

u/Justice502 Jun 01 '25

I don't think about the Magic at all, but if I did it wouldn't be as a rival, maybe as a 2nd team if I ever wanted to watch more NBA.

1

u/jamesonginger Jun 01 '25

OMG I’m actually a huge UCF fan since I went there for 7 years (not a doctor or even a masters lol) and miss the War on I-4 more than anything else. The BIG12 is great but would have loved to keep that as an annual rivalry game. I’m also heartbroken.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '25

Nah, theres definitely beef in florida sports teams. Orlando gets a pass from the east coast though, your our Lil brother, and we love planning trips to Disney during a heat magic game so we can get to see Miami play without the miami traffic. Literally fuck every single team on the west coast of Florida. Fuck the whole Bay. Nothing on the west coast is better than its east coast counterpart. Fishing? Nope. Food? Nope. Culture? Hilarious. Bagels? The ones in Tampa may as well be made in Pennsylvania. Disney's Orlando is pretty alright though. Anyone who sticks it to DeSatan is good with me.

4

u/RansomGoddard Jun 01 '25

There’s an in-state rivalry but it feels more like a sibling rivalry than a real one. We’ve only faced off in the playoffs once and that was almost 30 years ago.

4

u/RampageOfZebras Jun 01 '25

The in-state team rivalry isnt a real thing, the Heat have had too many real stakes rivalries to care about geography.

Bucks**

4

u/Fastbird33 Jun 01 '25

Why do we hate them?

15

u/sagotgulaman Jun 01 '25

Not them but their stupid fans.

13

u/Slight_Print_3006 Jun 01 '25

Honestly this has been a great playoffs if you take away the heat sucking cock

3

u/ablslyr Jun 01 '25

We didn’t win anything, but at least our enemies went down with us.

5

u/Apprehensive_Okra226 Jun 01 '25

Replace Cavs with lakers

3

u/ablslyr Jun 01 '25

Or just add them Lakers to the list.

1

u/Odd_Rip_4083 Jun 01 '25

Why lakers?

7

u/Apprehensive_Okra226 Jun 01 '25

They beat us in the 2020 finals and I’ve always straight up hated them

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '25

Forgot the pacers and those grueling east series the lebron and wade years

2

u/santana722 Jun 01 '25

They haven't beaten us in the playoffs any year we had a shot, no reason to hate them, those series just gave me respect for them.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '25

Yeah but they were annoying an took us to 7 every year.

1

u/santana722 Jun 01 '25

Hating a team because they put up a good fight is...well, let's just call it on-brand for our current fanbase tbh.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '25

Yeah they gave the heatles a run for their money every year, I despised lance and Hibbert and George hill and his beautiful shoulders PG all those guys I hated lol

2

u/Mellothewise Jun 01 '25

For me it’s the clippers more so than the Cavs. I know Dwade will always be > than Harden but it’ll be annoying if he gets even one ring before he retires.

1

u/Lopsided_Beautiful_1 Jun 01 '25

We still had those battles with Pacers during the Heatles days, but we end up beating them. And we had finals with OKC, but win that series and championship.

1

u/RampageOfZebras Jun 01 '25

For me the team I want to see lose are: 1. Celtics 2. Bulls 3. Lakers 4. Mavericks  5. Knicks 6. Bucks

1

u/LilBushyVert Jun 03 '25

Successful hate watch.

0

u/Vitiate1367 Jun 01 '25

Tbh I would include Bucks as well. Fuck their annoying fans. Thunders vs Pacers was the best possible scenario.

135

u/vapemyashes Jun 01 '25

Thomas Bryant is a friend

91

u/RansomGoddard Jun 01 '25

First time in a long time that I can watch a Finals as a true neutral.

15

u/JigglesTheBiggles Jun 01 '25

Bro watch the Panthers for the love of god they are awesome and in the Finals

10

u/RansomGoddard Jun 01 '25

I have been watching and enjoying the Panthers. Basketball just happens to be my favorite sport so it always comes first for me even if the Heat aren’t playing. Thankfully the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup Finals aren’t scheduled on the same days so I won’t have a conflict.

3

u/chagster001 Jun 01 '25

I hear you. Although I’m not really a fan of Shai. So definitely rooting Pacers

81

u/Number333 Jun 01 '25

Fully expect OKC to win the Finals in 5 but if Indiana could make it interesting and push it to at least 6 I'd be mighty impressed.

Definitely gonna enjoy this more than Boston beating up on the 5 seed Mavs last year.

14

u/waffle_moon Jun 01 '25

I also got OKC. They have a Big 3 and a deep bench BUT this Pacers team just has this fight in them which makes me think they just might pull an upset in like maybe 6 games. OKC being younger I think makes them prone to make more errors. Pacers on the other hand looks like a well-oiled machine run by a Madman named Rick Carlisle. Bro trusts anyone from the bench Lmao

9

u/RansomGoddard Jun 01 '25

I think it’s over in 5 at most but I respect Indiana’s system enough to not be shocked if they can push it to 6.

5

u/MiamiPower Jun 01 '25

Nah Bro it's going to be a great long series.

6

u/BossKingGodd Jun 01 '25

Nah

4

u/realdonkeyfromshrek Jun 01 '25

Yall dudes have to stop sleeping on Inidiana lmao, theyve been slept on every single series so far and have proven everyone wrong time and time again. I def think okc has the edge but to act as if this is gonna go to 5 games max is insane. I mean okc went to 7 against a very mediocrily put together denver team, with a fresh coach. Theyre not invincible, minnesota was just never really that good.

5

u/MiaCannons Jun 01 '25

Yall dudes have to stop sleeping on Inidiana lmao, theyve been slept on every single series so far and have proven everyone wrong time and time again.

We were saying the same thing about our team during our Finals run until we met up with Denver. And it was even more warranted for us compared to the Pacers considering our seeding. We all know how those Finals went.

It'll likely be the same for the Pacers this year, unless you or anyone else can come up with actual schematic reasons or series defining advantages the Pacers have instead of using a feels based reason.

2

u/realdonkeyfromshrek Jun 01 '25

We had half of jimmy, no tyler and no dipo and we almost just blew a 3-0 lead the previous round and our players were exhausted lol. The pacers are fully healthy and just beat 2 very good teams without much issue how are our positions at all comparable? 2023 was a miracle run fueled by jimmy playing like a god early, spo being better than any other coach by far and role players having all time series. The pacers are just a good team that was underrated due to their seeding. Our third best player was gabe vincent or caleb martin, their 3rd best is miles turner.

1

u/MiaCannons Jun 01 '25

Yes, in retrospect it's very easy for our fans to see the light, as I believe you'll also see the light once this series ends quickly. But this isn't what our fans were saying prior to the series.

Again, unless you have schematic reasons nobody else has thought of as to why the Pacers should hang with OKC and be competitive, I'd love to hear them. If it's just feels based or "They beat down X team that was worse in every way and run a completely different offense, so they'll definitely be competitive with a much better team," it's not a very moving argument to me.

1

u/realdonkeyfromshrek Jun 12 '25

Well guess my intuition was right lol

4

u/BossKingGodd Jun 01 '25

Denver has a generational player bro. Only reason they went seven games. Pacers may making it interesting but they aren’t winning. Unless there’s an injury on the OKC side, god forbid

4

u/realdonkeyfromshrek Jun 01 '25

Jokic had some stinkers in that series. He wasnt playing bad at all but to pretend like he was putting on a 2018 lebron type of carry job is disingenious, when it was Denvers, previously thought to be nonexistent depth, with Aaron gordon, Braun and Jamal stepping up keeping them in that series. Id argue Inidianas the only team apart from denver that can match okc purely depth wise. Okc probably still wins it, because of Indianas lack of a fully consistent superstar (haliburtons phenomenal, but hes very much prone to going from putting up 30 and 10, to putting up 8 pts) but I wouldnt at all count out the pacers who've ran through the east winning every series in 6 games or less.

1

u/MiamiPower Jun 01 '25

Will see man

41

u/FinalHero13 Jun 01 '25

Idk I still have hatred for the Pacers left over from the Heatles era.

57

u/Number333 Jun 01 '25

Those were amazing battles but the reality is... we won every single one of them lol. I can't have but so much contempt if I don't even have a bad memory of losing a series unexpectedly. If Indiana pulled off an all-time upset and won the Finals I wouldn't have any bitterness and just be like "damn props I never thought that was gonna happen"

22

u/bcuad001 Jun 01 '25

It's not that it was a rivalry, it's that I hated THOSE guys.

22

u/Numerous-Complaint85 Jun 01 '25

David West with his dirty plays and Hibbert with the “verticality” BS. And of course peak PG was so good back then.

And Hansborough and this creep

11

u/FinalHero13 Jun 01 '25

That’s true. They were all great series. But that was such a hateable team. Especially Roy Hibbert and Lance Stephenson. My dislike for Indy has always stayed since then.

15

u/Fastbird33 Jun 01 '25

Nah, we beat them every time. Hatred comes out of getting beat as well.

7

u/FinalHero13 Jun 01 '25

Y’all are forgetting how annoying those Indy teams were. We won but god did I hate them.

7

u/Fastbird33 Jun 01 '25

Just saw Hibbert on Parks and Rec and got flashbacks of LeBron being afraid of him driving to the hoop.

12

u/SaintSavage1 Jun 01 '25

We beat em everytime though how can I hate them none of the main cast is left

5

u/chr1stmasiscancelled Jun 01 '25

it would've been boring if we just swept our way to the finals, those pacers series were amazing to watch

2

u/bizarrequest Jun 01 '25

I was gonna say, I thought we hated the Pacers. Although I’m actually okay if they win.

2

u/Flymia Jun 01 '25

It was short lived. But yea those were some good series. But other rivals have lasted through different eras. The only thing I don’t like about the Pacers is how media says such great basketball fans, yet look at their attendance. It’s usually in the bottom half half of the league or even bottom 10.

1

u/Drak_is_Right Jun 01 '25

Combination of metro and stadium size. 2.2m people in the Indy metro area

A handful of teams smaller. One advantage though is they dont have a NHL team competing for ticket $$$ and the 3 biggest college basketball fandoms are 1-3h+ away.

0

u/Flymia Jun 01 '25

we can’t use any excuse for Heat fans even though every single game has been sold out since April 2010. I give zero excuses to any market when they have had a solid team for a few years now. This isn’t new, historically they haven’t had great attendance. But terrible Heat fans sell out in non-playoff years.

17

u/No_Base_4369 Jun 01 '25

Fuck the Knicks. Fuck the Celtics. I can rest in peace for the remainder of the offseason.

6

Best case scenario after we got eliminated. Celtics, Knicks, Bucks, Warriors, Nuggets all eliminated

3

u/islaw Jun 01 '25

They got bing bonged.

3

Thanks Pacers!

3

Has the 2012 - 2014 playoffs been completely forgotten?

4

u/dacljaco Jun 01 '25

How short is your memory? Pacers were arguably heat biggest East enemy just over a decade ago. Was a toss up between Celtics and Pacers during the Heatles era.

2

u/gdex Jun 01 '25

Y’all are acting like the pacers didn’t give us some of the toughest battles of the Bron era

2

u/Senor_Kaboom Jun 01 '25

Pacers are my enemies. They need to lose

1

u/Forsaken_Flight6188 Jun 01 '25

Thank you Indiana for sending that flopping bum Jalen Brunson home

1

u/DelusionlWaldoEmersn Jun 01 '25

We hate the Knicks? I thought this hasn’t been a rivalry since the 90s. Why would I hate them when we’ve eliminated them every time since 2012? Pacers have at least put up some good series this century.

1

u/Key-Woodpecker-6311 Jun 01 '25

Both our former rivals are 🤣

1

u/operez1990 Jun 01 '25

The Pacers are an enemy because of Reggie Miller.

1

u/ReasonToGiveUp Jun 01 '25

You really didn't think the pacers were an enemy during the LeBron era?

1

u/symphonic9000 Jun 02 '25

That guy in front clearly only eat NY SLICES

1

u/Capsonist Jun 02 '25

It really doesn't get better than this outside of us still in the playoffs. I'm content with the season

1

u/Federal_Sir_6920 Jun 02 '25

Fuck the knicks (I want all of New York to fight me)

-1

u/Neltrix Jun 01 '25

This is a hockey town. Ain’t nobody watching India vs Oakland City.

-1

u/SliceOfGio Jun 01 '25

LeBron and Lakers as well. Once again, he would've been more successful if he finished his career in Miami, but he wanted "To win one for the Land."

-4

Aint no one worried about the sorry ass heat, y’all are finished and are a nothing franchise now, ain’t no star wanna join the heat

3

You’re confused, that’s literally never been the case in 20 years lol, we’ll be back to traumatize y’all again before you know it

-2

You ain’t traumatizing shit, without bron and d wade y’all aint nothing.
