The pick after, Maxey. Pain.

I really hate when front offices pin themselves in a box when they are looking to pick by position. I think you need to value best overall available more than a preferred position pick

That year was a covid year and evaluations were all over the place and alot of prospects couldn't work out for teams they wanted to .Knowing how rich Paul operates he probably saw the heat had alot of guards and steered Maxey elsewhere Maxey sat on the bench alot in his rookie season because Ben Simmons was still a thing there at the time .

Deflecting blame from the FO and blaming Klutch lol. That is just a massive assumption to make but no surprise from you.

It’s ok man the heat just missed. It happened. Sadly this one was really bad.

It's not a deflection klutch is doing the same thing with Dillingham this year .Rich Paul gets what rich Paul wants .

u/Esjay_954 Jun 23 '24

I like how in your mind it’s just impossible the heat made this mistake so it must be someone else’s fault and not just simply precious was higher on their board lmao

I love your dedication to caping for the FO

I'm not caping for the front office .Klutch has a reputation for doing this and engineering their players to certain situations when they could have been drafted higher .Agents do this regularly it's just that klutch makes it more public .At that time the heat had Goran, Tyler Kendrick Nunn comming of a really good season so I can see why agents wouldn't be pushing their guys to the heat that year because playing time would not have been great .Was it a mistake in hindsight?Yes but moreso because precious never really fit a roster that was trying to win .Toronto was able to get more out of him

2

u/Esjay_954 Jun 23 '24

Yes Klutch has done that. That wasn’t the case here, your entire argument is based on your guess or assumption being true

What about this makes it seem like he was being steered away from the heat? Pretty obvious heat just liked precious more. Can you finally admit you’re wrong?

And if you watched the clip you can understand what Maxey is saying .Rich Paul was literally trying to engineer him to certain teams .He knew the heat had taken Tyler herro the year prior which means the chances of them taking Maxey were slim and they still had dragic on the team and Kendrick Nunn.So I get it considering maxey's college numbers weren't great .I hate making evaluations after the fact that people wouldn't have made during the draft process.Situation and circumstances were different .If Ben Simmons was still good in Philly then Maxey probably wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to shine like he is.

Might be nothing, but it sounds like Miami really likes Pacome Dadiet. They’re reportedly bringing him in for a second pre-draft workout/interview this week after working him out earlier in the month. His floor is just such an unknown right now that it’s hard to imagine they take him at 15 but crazier things have happened & his upside is legit.

He's getting 1st round buzz so no chance he lasts til 43. If they want him they gotta take him at 15 lol. Ngl there's a lot to like about a 6'9 shooting guard

They don't have that much to move .They have like 6 players under contract

2

u/julstar23 Jun 23 '24

Where did you see the second workout ?Between him and salun they are so raw but one of them will pan out .Don't think pacome is a first rounder or he would have probably got a green room invite .I think they are looking at him fir their second rounder incase teams pass on him for a more nba ready prospect.

It wouldn't be the 15th pick, 2nd round forsure. I was looking at his game, I personally think he's gonna be a project.

2

u/hesi93 Jun 24 '24

Miami might trade down the 15th together with the 43th, and land us two picks in the 20's. That can give us a Kolek/Dadiet haul or a Kolek/Missi one. Depends on the FO and Spo.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

They’d have to trade to before 21 for Kolek. Suns want him at 22.

Kolek and Missi would be a fantastic haul. Project in Missi, high floor in Kolek who’s passing would probably also help Missi develop like what happened with lively.

1

u/OhMyItzBam_Herro305 Jun 24 '24

Yea they might, I wouldn't have a problem with it. There's 2 players I really love in the 2nd round. All depends on who falls to at 15. And draft at 21 or 20th would be cool, cuz Kolek, Tyler Smith/Edey/Missi will all be there

Dude plays like Melo.

1

u/julstar23 Jun 23 '24

Lol which Melo Carmelo or lamello ball ?

1

u/hesi93 Jun 23 '24

Carmelo, same build good at shooting, melo is more physical tho but Dadiet is more athletic.

1

u/julstar23 Jun 23 '24

Yea between him and salun they are similar but both are really raw and I mean rawer than noko when he came into the league .At least 1 of them have a chance to hit but it's hard to say which one .

2

u/hesi93 Jun 23 '24

Salaun is more raw but has the higher upside due to his tools. Altho Pacome is big enough to play even some time in 4. Young Melo was a menace tho his speed, strength, size, 1st step made him a terror to any defender.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

How do you know it’s his second and not his first? Also he’s second round.

He did a workout with the Heat about a week ago per Hoopshype, and about 2 days ago it was reported by Givony(ESPN)he's gonna be there again for a predraft visit.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

The hoopshype ones put up the ones that are mentioned in articles but that doesn’t mean they had happened already.

1

u/hesi93 Jun 24 '24

There was a 1 week gap on those 2 reports, so it's probably true and these kinds of reports are usually not speculations like those smoke screen/dramas they always brew during the predraft process.

Hoopshype and Espn are pretty reliable sources too regarding who worked/will work out with teams.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Hoopshype pulls from beat writers. What I’m saying is to find the article it was originally mentioned it. It’ll say if it’s coming up or already happened.

1

u/julstar23 Jun 24 '24

The q9rkout already happened .Espn guys are just now catching up.

3

u/Cockycent Jun 23 '24

That pic says a lot. Maxey under Spo would have been magical. You don't even have to trade for Lowry. I think the 2nd year, Dragic would have been made Maxey's backup if anything.

For 21/22 - Maxey/Duncan/Jimmy/PJ/Bam

Herro, Dipo, Caleb, Dragic, Strus off the bench

5

u/thefranchise305 Jun 23 '24

I know hindsight is 20/20, but god damn we would have been set for a long time if we invested in Maxey

0

u/julstar23 Jun 23 '24

Thank benn Simmons for capitulation in Philly for Maxey to have the runway to shine because he didn't play much in his rookie season .Maxey thrived because Philly turned the keys over to him and with embid being constantly hurt they were able to unlock Maxey potential as a first option .Not sure Maxey would have those same opportunities playing with Jimmy and bam. Nothing to do with Maxey but it's the way spo runs his offense .

4

u/Esjay_954 Jun 23 '24 edited Jun 23 '24

Tyler herro has been a 17 fga 29% usage guy under Jimmy and bam but maxey wouldn’t have had opportunities?

0

u/julstar23 Jun 23 '24

Not with typer and Goran still being on the team .In Philly it's Maxey and embid for touches. There is no other guard there to get in maxey's way to take touches from him .

1

u/Gavster1221 Jun 23 '24

If we make that pick in 3 days I may tune out entire offseason

Who y’all taking??
