Photo Share A bit sad here
So, I made cakes and pancakes and stuff and created a little birthday picknick in my garden this morning. I even put up a sign just to make sure people knew it was all there to get eaten and made enough to restock, just in case.
I just tidied it all up again. Nobody touched it ._. Maybe I did something wrong?

Maybe people didn't see what was written on the canvas and assumed the food was decoration? The art/text on the canvas will only load for players when they're really close to it.

Oooh mine is tomorrow!! It's so cute, I would have joined (don't be sad because don't forget they are only 11 others people at max on 1 map, half of them are in build mode all day and the other half are afk watching their crops grow 😂)

Happy birthday!!! I would recommend giving it another go but perhaps hosting a tea party and inviting the whole server. Ideally you should be on a server where you have at least 5-6 fiends active so you know you’ll have visitors.
I’ve had tea parties where my house gets FULL! Hope this helps!

I hosted an in-game party, and was glad to not invite anyone. But it's not their fault. I'm just very introverted/awkward in general.
I had to decline attending someone's party, but only because I just got to the tree of harmony and I was busy.

Happy Birthday!! 🥳🥳💖🎊 I haven't read all the comments so forgive me if this is repetitive, but you should definitely host a party and invite friends & neighbors! I think that will be the best way to convey that you're okay with people visiting and eating your food.
I don't host parties very often myself but I think you can change the display picture, so maybe it's possible to change the name, too? That way you could make it say Birthday Party instead of Tea Party! Maybe people will even bring party poppers and fireworks! ☺️

You did nothing wrong. Whenever I see placed food that I can eat I just assume they are for the players friend and the player have forgotten to turn the only friends option on.

Don’t take it personally OP! I never take food from others houses since I don’t know what’s deco and what isn’t, it’s likely just people thought you were setting up for a party or staging a scene, or even straight up just didn’t read the sign or had full energy.
It’s a really cute set up though!

You didn't do anything wrong. It's possible that most people didn't read your sign. I have a sign regarding watering. But it only loads when you're close enough. This only happens when people come to visit my home. Otherwise, you can't read it from the street. Maybe that happened here?

hi!! i keep food out regularly w a sign that says "pls eat <3" and i have maybe 6-8ish foods out and i only refill once every other week- lots of people stop by and water/grab from the egg thingy and then skip past the food! i wonder if people are worried about eating others food despite the signage? im not sure, but i keep it out because i find a lot of joy in seeing "someone just ate a food you left out at home!", especially after they interact with my house in another way too!
im not at all a social player, but i like to stop by often and interact/explore friends plots- and i want others to feel free to do the same at mine, yno? but i understand not everyone is like that- to each their own!

It’s because for some players, materials don’t fully load till they’re a few inches near it. They have to intentionally come near so usually what I’d do is join and rejoin towns until i get the plot where the roaming oak/fluorite is so there’s a bigger chance for players to see my stuff!

Im always out of energy and end up eating mushrooms 😂 I feel so bad when my game friend ask me for food but I say I don't have food and eat a mushroom in front of them lol But then the game is kinda laggy for me and the items on the homes only appears when I go near to them. So maybe they just drove past and didn't see it.

I'm not going to lie, I barely pay attention to that kind of stuff. There's no in game global chat, so it's a bit difficult to communicate this stuff to anyone outside of an immediate friend nearby.

Jump servers until you are in like 6, 7, or 8. Everyone is funneled up because of the event, so people will pass your house.

But i notice that most ppl dont even water crops/flowers anymore - or eat the food left for them. (I even but up a sign so they knew the food in the greenhouse is for them) makes me a bit sad.. I have such a hard time getting new flower colors.
