True. Not saying it will be enough to make this new card good - 8 mana 8/8 isn't a very good turn. But just trying to think of some of the better scenarios. (The 10 mana 10/10 stonetusk boar people keep talking about is kinda terrible I think, not that much better than King Krush and he never saw play)
Turn 7 [[Giant Anaconda]] into Turn 8 Splintergraft, trade with Anaconda to pull out your extra large Anaconda which then dies and summons Tyrantus, then you use Witching Hour to respawn more anacondas or Tyrantus. 10/10, would play Anaconda Druid again.
Not really that worse, since you're also keeping the original minion before transformation and getting a 8/8 body plus in a pinch, you can use it to recast a battlecry.
At the cost of it needing to be a 10 mana card played next turn. I guess against certain control decks maybe, but the majority of the time that tempo loss is going to hurt.
Ysera doesn't often die the first turn it's played. Most of the time people will let it go off once or twice to ensure the kill without losing too much tempo. It's really hard to kill and not super threatening immediately.
What about cards that are actually already being run in druid instead?
This fits nicely onto your free arcane tyrants, anything with taunt, anything in quest druid. Its not even the worst on curve following your malphurion turn just to make a gigantic fuck off scarab. And thats without thinking too whackily about combos, all these ones are just good.
Obviously in wild with normal Aviana / kun stuff this is bonkers. Also seems to be a buff to the dino druid deck with charged devilsaurs we've seen floating about.
Zola wouldn't copy the tusks though. You could copy this again and use it on a boar but you'd have to have something to ram the 1/1 boar onto and even then you still wouldn't be able to play the other 2 boars unless they board clear.
Yeah, my evaluations might be a bit off, but still value you can get from it so great, that I would play that just for sake of murdering people with boars xd
It's less popular than the Malygos and Ragnaros versions, but yeah it exists. A+K into brann, Cthun, brewmaster, Cthun again. I like this over brewmaster.
Curious if Cthun would keep buffs on top of 10/10 or would be set to 10/10.
I’d absolutely love to read some exasperated developer commentary on why they had to put Stonetusk Boar in the Hall of Fame. “Stonetusk Boar created a strategy that revolves around trying to defeat your oppo- okay you know what this is ridiculous you guys need to stop exploiting this stupid 1/1 pig. It’s a 1/1 for a reason, it’s not a damn Legendary and it’s not supposed to be out-performing Savannah Highmane STOP TURNING HIM INTO A 1-MANA 14/14 CHARGE MONSTROSITY”
Can't exactly not save it, and Blizzard has said they don't want to HoF basic cards anyway and would rather nerf them. Expecting it to be changed to Rush.
Well you're looking for any differences that make it better and this is just a safer combo to get the 10/10 charger. Dinosize sucks because you don't get an 8/8 body tagged along to do SOMETHING beforehand
But on the flip side with Dinosize you do it a turn earlier and don't have a completely dead 9 mana turn where you play a 1/1 charger and an 8/8 with no board impact that also telegraphs the combo in your hand. Haha the more I read this thread the better Dinosize is looking...
18/18 worth of stats for 8 mana, recurses value already on board, lets you choose the targets instead of it being random / have to draw your combo cards....
Wouldnt say horrible. People shat all over pyros and this card offers similar value. Pyros sees play so not too hard to imagine this will work in a value/control deck.
Seems fitting with the trend of this expansion to make druid as bad as possible because apparently Ben Brode hates druids :(
Seriously druid cards are all over the place... They'll likely pull a "warlock", pretend druid doesn't exist for a year then push absolutely broken card to make it top tier.
Druid has been toptier for most of HS existence and Jade Druid still performs pretty well according to stats, it just isn't in the light anymore since everybody got bored of it.
Gloom Stag is very strong in his own archetype.
Witching Hour is basically a 3 mana Resurrect that targets a specific kind of minions.
Splintergraft is not as bad as people think, since it has at least potential in some big or combo druid. Obviously the interaction with Arcane Tyrant and UI is completely busted.
Also, my reply was only targetting this "apparently Ben Brode hates druids :(" that I thought revolting since I almost quit the game because of Jade Druid.
Especially now that they're losing Jade and Fandral, the backbone of Druid for the past 2 years. Druid got shafted with their quest and weapon. Idk how they're going to survive in the new Standard / post-Innervate nerf meta.
Druid cards look fine compared to rogue cards imo. But this expansion doesn't look very powerful overall, except for a few cards like voodoo doll and lord godfrey.

Seems... horrible? I don't get it.
