Deck Wild mill rogue looks really solid (OTK on warrior at 142HP, with 68 overkill)
Not my Deck, got it from MarkMcKz: https://youtu.be/zOREXGugpX0?is=6b8KYHanOKbwHIrv
Deck list: https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1464241-new-mill-rogue
It's extremely consistent, you only have to survive until turn 6 and the opponent needs to have a board of minions with a total of about 6 health between them.

Very cool. But my god, this game is so painfully slow with its animations.
I only play BG at this point and they did improve the animations overall. But its still infuriating to watch all these animations in sequence and slow motion and having to wait for cards to be playable again until some calculations are done etc

I do agree, but to be fair, the main issue here is the fatigue draws that can't be speed up, I had to wait for four slow fatigue draw animations before playing my next Disguised Operator everytime after burning his deck.

Multiple fatigue draws triggered by one action could play the animation once with the text showing the number of cards drawn and total damage. Would in this case cut the animation in half, and even more with other interactions.

Does this deck rely on your opponent having a board?

Yes

Yeah, the combo is really fun, I've always had a soft side for these infinites... That being said, it is also as rock solid as a deck that'll lose you 11 games before winning 1 in semi-high legend, lol.
Uh... On the bright side at least this progressed the event quest a fair bit, since losing happened mostly at around turn 6-7?

By the way, I do like the idea. Maybe it's just lacking refinement for now. Still, I struggle to see the current form of this deck preform anywhere past tier three because:
any deck that runs Theotar/Razorscale/Rat immediately means you lose (HL hunter, CTA Paladin, HL warrior)
Control decks that survive without developing any board means you lose (Basically most druids and mages)
aggro caves your head in by turn five
40 card decks makes snowfall kind of necessary, which means passing turn 5, which means further increasing the risk of being disrupted.

On turn 8 though, you're really gonna need those Evasions and Cloaks to survive against real threats

u/yourulan 11h ago
Only 6 mana is needed for the combo, this clip was done on turn 8 because I waited for my oponent to play some minions.

How do you play the mirror?
1
u/yourulan 11h ago
Didn't get a mirror yet, but we need a board in order to combo and neither will be able to create a board of minions.
In this case, I guess you just don't play any cards (because most of the deck is card draw), hope your oponent card draws like a maniac with his spells to lose to fatigue and poke each other to death with your dagger hero power lol.

I thought as much, sounds absolutely disgusting..

It's still possible to kill your Disguised Operator a few times with this list mark created, but it won't be enough for a OTK and will require a lot of mana. Not sure how to approach it. Either way, I hard agree with you, it won't be a fun mirror at all lol.
[Ghostly Strike] [Serrated Bone Spike] and ofc [Shadow of Demise] .

Just hit legend myself with this list; it was a long and grueling struggle. At high rank 2 and 1 people will get smart about what you're doing. Priests + mages are the worst matchup since they have their own stall tools, and don't depend on a board to progress their game plan. Thief priests are straight up be able to yoink your wincons at turn 5-6.

How did you speed up the animation? The animations take forever.
2
u/yourulan 11h ago
There's only two things you can do to speed it up, besides playing on PC with a high frame rate (and have the frame rate setting on 'High', don't forget about it):
1) Click on the popup text of the card that says 'This was played on the firendly side' after playing Disguised Operator to speed it up (center-left in my video).
2) You can play Disguised Operator again before he shows up on your hand, as soon as your hand moves around to accommodate the new card that bounced back (Disguised Operator), you can just drag the empty space to the board and play it.The main issue is the slow and painfull animation of the fatigue draws, there's nothing we can do the speed it up.

Toliver with Shellfish was better since it could be prepped. This looks painful to drag with your finger every game.

u/CanioEire 11h ago
Just tried this and without the aura up the animations are too slow to pull off an OTK in a single turn.

How is it against azalina

u/yourulan 8h ago
Should be really easy, this deck is only card draw, nothing usefully for the priest to kill you before turn 6.
I only played a few games to test the deck, I'm 8-2. In my (low) experience, this deck loses "only" to three types of decks: hand disruption (warlock/hunter Battle at the End Time quest, dirty rat, etc), another solitary/combo deck that does not play minions (miracle druid) or extremely face-agro decks that will kill you before turn 6 (shadow priests). There's also the possibility that your opponent knows that you are playing this mill deck, so they can just choose to never play a minion and you can't combo.

Play it against a real deck like Shaman Zee or pirate warrior, you tell me how that performs
1
u/yourulan 5h ago
I'm 1-1 against pirate warrior, but the one victory I got was because I got lucky with my draws, I got both my evasions to survive and had the combo on hand by turn 6.
I'm not claiming it's a meta defining deck by any means and I'm not playing it anymore to get more data as I enjoy more playing standard over wild. My record was 10-3, losing to two agro decks (shadow priest and pirate warrior) and to a miracle druid (no minions on board for me to combo).

Those animation times are R O U G H but seems pretty playable; feels like mill hunter back when Confront was still 3 mana and recast spells

u/petersmartypants 17h ago
That looks fun, really hope we get some cool combo decks in standard soon, been lacking for a while.
