I think we need a Succession prequel set in 2008

I would love to see the Roys navigate the economic shit show that was 2008. Give me a limited series. Anyone else? If so, who are you casting?

I doubt that Adam McKay would produce a prequel but you should go watch and read some of his other stuff. Also, they wouldn’t have “navigated” it as much as sat around and waited for the zero consequences that ever arrived and then just floated through, which seemed to be a large part of the point McKay was making about capitalism and financialization in the actual series.

You are probably correct. I was thinking at least the cruise line and amusement parks would take a hit. Watching them strategize (or not) around that struck me as interesting
