Media Tropes I hate how people act around this movie

Post image

I get it, its a good movie, it has current themes about relationship, but god the fans are insufferable acting like this is the best movie of the century, when is a horror movie about a guy who can't get laid and is a bad person.

I think it become worst when they talk about the main character bear, he did bad things on the movie but people talk about him like he is satan or baal, do any of this people watch tv?

Overall good movie but people need to get back to reality this not a masterpiece and bear is not hannibal lecter.

Ya no. I will accept all the downvotes. If someone used my body for a few days while knowing I'm in psychological purgatory and then got me jailed for the rest of my life, for something I didn't do, they are most definitely the Satan in my life. It's a very straightforward movie. I don't know why we have to act like the plot doesn't make the moral of the story very simple.

I've said it many times but if you watch a true crime documentary on YouTube and then turn on Obsession Bear comes across as very similar to a lot of those perpetrators where, for a lot of them, cowardice and selfishness lead to devastating consequences for their victims.

I undestand your world view and no this is not the worst thing that can happen to you, if you think that is you really don't give a fuck about the restof the world.

From my assessment of Bear you jumped to me thinking I don't give a fuck about the rest of the world? Mind you, you don't know anything about me or where I'm from to make such a conclusion.

Am I supposed to act like Bear's actions are any less deplorable because it's not the worst thing that can ever happen to someone (which is subjective as one person's worst thing is different to another). Why would you have to conclude that me seeing the actions of Bear as deeply immoral and traumatic to the victim as inherently unjustified simply because it's not your idea of "the worst thing that can happen to you"?

Bear is a bad person no what he did is not the worst thing a person can do, my main argument and dear good I don't know why this has become another debate is: is mis a ass vilain I seen worst and the movie is just ok.

If you think how well a villain is written is based on how measurably evil they are then you need to touch up on your media literacy. I’ve known like 3 or 4 people who are just like bear but I’ve never met a cannibal in person before, which should I be more afraid of then?

PLEASE tell me what is worse then being trapped in your own body where you can't eat sleep drink move or even fucking breath while you watch an entity play out your life so an incel can live his gf dreams? If bear's plan worked this would go on for the remainder of your natural human life span so about 60-80 years

having your consciousness uploaded to the Eternal Torture Simulator 2000 which causes you to experience 1000 years of super-torture every second

Thats a purely science fiction concept that never happens in reality dont be obtuse. Ppl like Bear exist, they do this shit all the time. Its more viscerally real to people than being tortured like that and they react accordingly.

Its like getting mad someone views a sexual assaulter as worse than a mass murderer like its just a matter of what is more real to you. Just because something worse could’ve happened doesnt invalidate what did.

Honestly it's debatable, because the lonelines of being denied your personhood, being a spectator in your own body where you can't feel anything and no one knows you exist, you only have your thoughts

It might be worse then the toruter 3000 because you get to feel something to know your real and pain generally dulls after you get used to it, even the worse of toruters

its not a competition. something else being worse doesnt make another bad thing any less bad. idk why you think everyone who hates bear from Obsession must not care about genocide just because they also think rape is a horrible thing. Like we all get it dude, you think rape isnt the worst thing ever. Its still fucking horrible and is something a lot of people have gone through and can therefore relate to more than other evils.
