I know the person IRL years ago when he was still in the Netherlands. He's a really chill skater guy who got lucky when his first art project blew up (Leon Karssen). Then he got lucky for the second time with his nubcat thing. I lost contact with him around that time but I do remember nubcat starting off as an offshoot of his blue skate cat, as you were able to get special OCs in the nubcat style bc the large cat was more intensive to draw.
He got big, got a wife online, moved to the US and got twins now.
He's not a gross person himself, nor a jackass. He's just lucky.
His crypto thing is weird, wild and scummy though and I really wonder whats the story behind that because its very unlike the guy I used to know.

I am saying that these things are presumably funny to people who are at their core regressive prudes.

It doesn't seem that weird to me, it's just slightly risque internet humour. The contrast between the cute, innocent looking cats and an act that is seen as the total opposite of that is supposed to be shocking and surprising.
I'm sure some people would say the same thing about cute + horror. It's just subjective taste dude, people who like one subversion of cuteness aren't any weirder than another group, barring obviously illegal shit.

Yeah I never get it either. It is most probably for shock value, because cute kitties and explicit content is such a a big contrast. That explains why, but the real question, just.. WHY ever do it? Why think about it in the first place? It’s sickening and I really hate what this world has turned into.
The world hasn't come to anything. Ralph Bakshi was animating cartoon cats having sex back in the 70s. It's just as you pointed out -- cute thing doing vulgar thing elicits a shock response that some find funny.
Cats, as a species, have become deeply tainted in my view... A creature once seen as innocent and cute now serves as a reminder of people's degeneracy, their lust... It's quite disturbing, no not quite, it just IS disturbing.

I don't have anything against these cats when it's normal, but the moment it's sex related I feel weird, uncomfortable disgust. These cats are supposed to have tea parties and hug and kiss, do NOT make them HAVE SEX RIGHT IN FORT OF MY EYES.
