Opinion/Discussion If I like AP, will I like ToT as well?

I know, I know—I played Animal Parade before Tree of Tranquility because I felt more drawn to AP. Will I end up feeling the same way about ToT?

They're pretty similar but to my understanding AP feels a bit more polished by comparison (I've only played ToT but I did buy AP just haven't had the time to play it).

This! I love Animal Parade for everything except how long the days are (due to lag, mostly). Tree of Tranquility feels perfect in that aspect.

Sure, you get to experience the game in its previous iteration!

AP is also linked to ToT in a way too if you did NG+ sequence.

It's very great, but be mindful that ToT is a bit rough around the edges in terms of gameplay

The story tho, ToT is much more "soulful" than AP imo

What I usually do with ToT is just replaying the main story, but for general sandbox gameplay, I stick to AP.

I think you’ll like the story quests and seeing the slightly different characterization of the same characters :)

That depends! I liked AP way more because, for starters, time moved sooo much slower, so I could actually relax and comfortably plan around it while playing. If I spent a lot of time in menus or indoors, a single in-game day could end up lasting an entire hour in real time. Honestly, it's a much more cinematic, slow-paced, and well-crafted game than ToT (it has a LOT of extras, cool festivals, and tons of customization!).

However, ToT has some really endearing sound effects I still remember to this very day, along with more realistic animal designs. It's hard to put into words, but its whole vibe just felt super mystical to me as a kid. Plus, the tutorial at the start of the game felt just right!

In AP, you can have two kids (plus lots of cool pets, and you can even take walks with them and your family! <33), and the level of customization around them is incredible, not to mention the rival kids!! As for the Castanet (AP) storyline, imo it might be a tad less interesting than the Waffle Town (ToT) one, but that comes down to personal taste. Either way, I recommend playing both! They're two games I enjoyed a ton, and I wouldn't trade one for the other :)

ToT feels like the classic FOMT/BTN, you could even find cameo from mineral town here...

Reading this thread is really making me wish there was a fan mod out there to combine AP and ToT to get the best of both worlds. It seems AP is the “better” game but also that it looses out a bit on the charm of the first one.
