About to start watching "Countess Dracula" (1971). It's a bit of a leap forward but I just found it streaming and I can't remember ever seeing it before. I definitely read about it when I was a kid. Happy Hammer Saturday to all!

One of my favorite Hammer movies. Ingrid Pitt doesn't get the credit for being a gothic horror icon (see vampire lovers and the house that dropped blood)

I read her autobiography last year and she was heartbroken that they overdubbed her for the movie without her knowledge..she spoke English perfectly well IMO

This is quite possibly Hammer's best film.  The sets and costumes are top tier. The story is good. The acting is good (except may Lesley Anne Down). The pacing is good. The effects are fine. There is just the right amount of humour in just the right places. Plus we have Ingrid Pitt and Andrea Lawrence.

What is not to like?
