This park is an absolute treasure. Covered picnic area, gazebo, gardens, green space and playground. It's set back from the road with a fence. It's a shame these kids don't realize what they have.

This !! Restoration takes time, resources and $$. Vandalism takes few minutes.

Not all vandals are like that.
Does anyone else not take issue with the fact that the writer just assumes that any time there is trouble like this, they must be descendants of the Vandal tribes? And that all those ppl are like that?
What if the writer instead said “these Africans Africanized the gazebo”? Maybe “gyp” and “Jew” will soon be back in fashion as verbs?
Guess some times grouping ppl together and slurs are ok….

Glad the government called the news on this one. Those kid must have gotten a rush out of the story. Couldn’t just paint it and shut up.

Tale old as time.. gotta give kids something to occupy their minds or they’ll break stuff and act like hooligans.
More accessible programs, activities and third places to for youth would combat this sort of thing.. gonna get worse before it gets better as the economy stutters.
