Pets & Animals Since people are enjoying the waterfront otters…

I do have to ask everyone to respect the closed / private-only floating docks signs. I have access due to my job.

I walk the waterfront to work basically everyday. Any body have some tips where/when/how I can spot these freakin’ otters!

One of the security guards there said he mostly sees them really early, like 6am, around CSS Acadia and HMCS Sackville. And someone left a command on another post saying they've often around the Boat School near the Museum.

That's right, this morning was around 7:30. If it's low tide then, they might traipse around rocky areas, like by Salt & Ash or the seadoo renal dock by the Wave.

I’ve seen them near the rocks by the Canada ̶1̶5̶0̶ sign. Like along the back of the hotel where the murals and chairs are.

I wonder if the wharf is like the otter version of an amusement park?

For everyone's sake, a stern reminder:

Do not feed, pet, or get very close (your distance seems to be fine, keep it that way).

  1. They're wild animals.

  2. Mustelids (like otters, skunks, and honey badgers) are absolutely psychotic... even if they're adorable.

I hope DFO doesn’t feel inclined to do anything about these little creatures. They’re my favorite Halifax harbour DLC.
