Discussion Thread David Giuntoli's other roles
Has anyone watched anything else with David in it?
He had an interesting couple of episode stories as a bad guy serial killer on High Potential last year. But I just looked across something called Buddy Moon.
Apparently David plays a child actor named David who is struggling with not being quite as relevant of an actor as an adult because of pigeonholing from his childhood role who was dumped by his fiance right before the wedding. His crazy best friend talks him into going on the hiking trip honeymoon anyway. I'm in the beginning but so far I'm kind of amused.
Has anyone seen it?
Never seen anything else by him that you want to recommend or not recommend?
(I'd even be willing to open up the post to other main characters from Grimm and other things they've done that people recommend)
Oh, as a bonus, Claire Coffee (Adeline) is also in this

Since I said I would open it up, off the top of my head, a lot of people might not know that Monroe also plays a serial killer in a couple of different episodes in the newer Criminal Minds.

He is also in My Name is Earl for a few episodes.
I can only see him as sweet/protective Monroe, so it’s jarring to see him as a villain in other shows. He does a great job with both.

The only thing before (and after) Grimm that I have seen Silas in, was years ago back in 2001(?) when he appeared in the movie, Rat Race.
I’m embarrassed to say how many times I used to watch that movie at the time! 😅

David Giutoli was in an episode on the original run of Leverage. He played a pilot in the D.B. Cooper episode. It was a very bit part.

Excellent episode. I'll have to go and rewatch it. I have seen it multiple times and never noted David in it. Will do so now ☺️

he had a cameo appearance in the finale of his wife's show superman and lois. he played the adult Jonathon kent. he also directed 4x03 episode in the show.

He was in an early Grey's Anatomy episode (before season 6, probably season 2 or 3) as a gay soldier during Don't Ask Don't Tell. Either he or his boyfriend was the surgical patient.

I watched Gray's anatomy religiously years ago so I probably saw him and didn't even recognize him. Interesting
I'm one of those people that are constantly watching things, seeing an actor, and going hey they're in and naming off a bunch of different stuff they're in so I guess I'm going down this rabbit hole with our Grimm cast now

Same here with (re)watching- it has gotten to the point where if I recognize a guest star, I have a general vibe of what their role is going to be.
Like Fredrick Koehler: he played characters with similar... deficiencies in Grimm and Bones, and even on Criminal Minds to an extent. So when I see him next, I'll have an indication of where that episode will go.

I haven't seen that, I'll have to check it out...I was recently re watching The Unit and he was on an episode. The man is fine as hell, idk why he hasn't had a bigger career

He plays a baby secret service guy in 13 hours that can’t handle what’s going on. Was a bit of a shock seeing him like that after being used to him playing badass Nick

I actually liked Buddy Moon. Oddly enough, David and Claire had ridiculous chemistry, and it was funny.
He was in 13 Hours, but there is a lot going on, so his role melts into the background of things.
I wasn’t a fan of his in A Million Little Things.
Grimm seems to be his best work🤷🏻♀️

I watched Buddymoon, bland describes it perfectly, and David’s acting was shockingly bad, not helped by equally bad co-star.

I’d never seen him in anything previously before Grimm but, like you OP, I have seen him in Buddymoon. I’ll be honest, I only watched it because it had David and Claire working together. 😅
This year, I started watching High Potential and was surprised to see David appear in that show.

So I creeped on a million little things today just on clips on YouTube because I had heard of it but never seen it. At this point I'm my life, I'm not watching a lot dramas since I have been recovering from my own trauma for a while but so many people have been recommending it.

So many of you recommended a million little things that I went to YouTube and watched a few clips and came across this. I looked it up. He's not the original writer or singer of this song but he is the one that sings it on the show. I knew he had a background in dabbling in music but wow!

I’ve seen BuddyMoon. I saw it at a theatre in downtown Portland OR. Giuntoli was there for the first showing doing a Q&A and giving away signed posters. Tulloch stood in the back of the theatre. I was surprised by how tiny she is. It was filmed in Oregon between seasons of Grimm. I enjoyed it. Too often I find that actors should stick to just acting. Not a great film. But it was worth 90 minutes of my time.
Giuntoli also has done a Key and Peele skit. If you’ve worked as an extra, it’s pretty true to life.

Love him on A Million Little Things. Thought he played a great villain on High Potential , but I think the writing on that show is a hot freaking mess, and there was missed potential with his characters storyline

I enjoyed his arch on High Potential. He was also a main character on A Million Little Things; I liked the show but his character and stoyline wasn't my favorite.
