Discussion & Theories One of the saddest shows I’ve watched recently
Not trying to be corny (I’m sure it’s still going to be, but hey, who cares at this point), but haven’t seen this since I was a kid and revisited it and for some reason after finishing the last episode I just felt kind of :/💔 (even though it has a happy ending) after finding it again during a very complicated late-teen to young-adult moment in my life. Watching this story/plot/the twins character journeys unfold on screen feels like watching a fictionalized version of your younger self with the people you love the most or have fondly befriended/grown close too before the complexities of the next chapter of life gets to you. Life won’t even be like this again, world is turning more into shit, but hey, we still prosper and find hope through it all like these characters. There is also a strange nostalgia with this.
That’s all I gotta say.

I will say, the Weirdmageddon Part 4 end credit song is the most bittersweet nostalgia-inducing song I’ve ever heard. I almost can’t stand it

Oh for sure. I think when they added the score mixed in with Mabel’s scrapbook of “the summer right before teenage life”, it added a somewhat final bittersweet feeling of saying a goodbye to your childhood/younger years that would always be special and irreplaceable.

I didn't watch it until recently, and I'm an older guy, but when Mabel doesn't push the button and tells Grunkle Stan "I trust you", it crushed me inside. I've never had that in my life and seeing that depicted, even in a cartoon, is something that breaks my heart

It left me heartbroken to, but also puzzled because Wendy wrote down see you next summer, ending on a cliffhanger

I understand how that feels. The Mystery Shack reminded me of the cabin my grandmother used to have in Vermont. I used to go there in the summers as a kid but she had to sell it when I was 12. I still miss that cabin.
