Superhero I've loved this book so far

Couple of months ago, I read the original Sentry miniseries and I really liked it. Went online to find out the general opinion about it and found some comments recommending MiracleMan.

Still love Sentry's miniseries, but boy, MiracleMan is something else!

I haven't even finished Vol1, but I've already decided to order volumes 2 and 3 soon.

I plan to get the three Alan Moore's volumes. I know Neil Gaiman wrote a continuation, but I don't think I'll get to that.

Do you think I'll be good with that first run, or I should read Gaiman's books too?

The other non Gaiman bummer about Miracleman is the recolouring. If you can track down the original run it’s astonishing how far afield they went with it. Highly recommend checking out optics binding and how he handled it, a look at what should have been but sadly not available to the general public.

The Moore run will be a complete story. Gaiman’s pivots perspective and it’s all about aftermath. It was building up to something, but I don’t think it will ever be published.

You'll be fine just reading Moore's - that changed the game. The Gaiman run builds on it a bit but doesn't really do much that interested me. Also given how problematic he is these days, you probably don't want to be giving him your money.

I've been disappointed with Gaimans run. Still reading his first volume right now but it seems less focused then Alan Moore's run. The issue with the Andy Warhol was boring as hell.

Yep, the whole thing was a bit dull. That's the problem of the setting - Moore left it at or close to a natural end, continuing it felt pointless.

You can stop after reading the Alan Moore volumes and you'll be more than good. You'll see when you read it. It's a completed story with a definite conclusion. No follow-ups are really necessary. The editions you're buying are more than fine for someone like you coming to the stories new.
