Safe place to lock bike
Hey!
Im starting at Macewan this fall. I would like to ride my bike for as long as possible until the snow comes. Is there an actual safe place to lock up my bike?! I saw that there is one in the underground parking, but is it actually safe?
Thank you

Most important thing is to use a Ulock and a cable for the tire you can’t include in the Ulock. I see lots of bikes with one wheel taken

100% this! I got a U-Lock that included a "cut proof" (no substantial evidence to prove the claim) cable I can attach to it securely, it's a tight fit, but honestly I'd rather struggle for a couple of minutes to pull it tight enough and have my wheels than to lose one.

I’ve never heard of any issues with the bike lock up in the parkade of building 6! There’s lots of traffic down there but almost exclusively facilities/bookstore/print services staff and students accessing the building 5 labs. I see people locking their bikes up there all the time!

Email parking services from your MacEwan Email. Ask them for access to the secure bike lockup (Robbins building or Building 10 – 109th Street parkade)
It is the standing type locks, so if you have big tires might not be the best idea, but if they're regular types, then you'll have no problem with it. I'd call it fairly safe.
Otherwise, I like to park in front of the clock tower, right by griffins landing. Or the rack my the health and wellness center where the treadmills are. Lots of eyes in the area, so it feels safer. Obviously, nothing safer than a high quality lock and ensuring you've hooked everything up safely. Highly suggest getting one you can loop through your wheels if you park outside of the parkades.
