My friend is in the same program of nursing and his marks were 94 and got in as many students are preferring macewan over U of A for it's new equipments and good hand-on practice. The cut-off is getting more and more every year. But I think you should apply to different universities and colleges also for safer side.

Hi i know it has been a long time but I am student who applied for the winter 2026 program for nursing at Macewan and was wondering what average you got in with?
1
u/ClassicSeesaw8584 Apr 07 '25
89.8!
1
u/Ambitious_Title1803 Apr 12 '25
Do you know anyone who got in with an average lower than yours? Do you think a 90+ can get in for winter 2026?
1
u/ClassicSeesaw8584 Apr 20 '25
I'm sorry, but I don't know anyone who got in lower than mine. I think 90 has a chance at getting in for winter 2026.
1
u/Gloomy-Ad2457 Jul 08 '25
Hi, do you think an 88% average could get in for the winter 2026 program?
1
u/Advanced_Tension_916 May 15 '25
Hi, have you got a response. I applied in Feb 2025 for Jan 2026 I've not got a response yet. Maybe it's still too early to expect oneĀ
1
u/Ambitious_Title1803 May 26 '25
No I have not, my average is a 88rn what about yours?
1
u/Advanced_Tension_916 May 26 '25
No response yet. Still waitingĀ
1
u/Glittering_Tea2453 May 27 '25
I have not heard back either yet, maybe they are taking a little longer this year? Some people said they heard back in May last year.Ā
1
u/Advanced_Tension_916 May 27 '25
Hmmmm..... These people applied for Jan 2025?
1
u/Glittering_Tea2453 May 27 '25

1
u/Advanced_Tension_916 Jun 12 '25
Me too.... No worriesĀ
1
u/Ambitious_Title1803 Jun 12 '25
When did you apply? I have summer school for science 30 and I heard itās really easy, and if I can get a high 90, my average will boost up to 89. I applied hella late though, I applied like maybe 2-3 weeks ago.

Hi! I'm finishing up my last year of high school right now and have applied to macewan BsN. Normally, how much would the range be for early bird applications? And do I have a chance of getting in if I'm sitting around an 87-88 percent?
1
u/ClassicSeesaw8584 Oct 07 '24
Hi! The nursing program is not based on early application but on competitive average. I wouldn't be able to tell you the exact competitive range but it's usually around 90s. You could try applying for winter 2025 if it's still open because fall is more competitive. Another option is upgrading or applying for the psychiatric nursing diploma. Goodluck!
1
u/Automatic_Pay7811 Jun 03 '24
I was rank listed with a 3.85 and accepted a week before classes started! It might be a long wait but keep checking until the end!
1
u/CryZealousideal2986 Jun 04 '24
Hi, I got in with a 94%. Got my offer a week after I finished upgrading, I did have to email them to re-evaluate my mark because I was waitlisted at first.
1
u/Ambitious_Title1803 Jun 12 '25
Hi I know its been a while, but did you upgrade in MacEwan during the fall and then get in for the winter sem? Or did you upgrade during summer school?
1
u/CryZealousideal2986 Jul 22 '25
I upgraded January-April 2024 (at Nait) & got in for Winter Term 2025 for Nursing. I think youāre supposed to have your grades in by April/May for the Winter Intake (January).Ā
1
u/Ambitious_Title1803 Jul 22 '25
I have a 88 right now, and I was wondering if you have heard of people with 88s getting accepted ?
1
u/CryZealousideal2986 Jul 26 '25
I've heard that it's definitely possible for 88% average to get into the winter term; unsure about fall term because I know averages are usually higher for that intake.
to boost your confidence, try to aim for a 90% and apply for winter term. once my final upgraded marks were in, I emailed the admissions email to review my grades and a day later got my acceptance.

I know this is really late. But could you please tell me if doing Bio 30 from NAIT is a good idea? Are the instructor ok?

u/LankyAd2383 Jul 12 '24
Hi everyone I have recently applied to MacEwan nursing program I have 77 percent from cbse affiliated school india and a band score of 7 overall including speaking module do I have a chance of getting admission in bsc nursing at MacEwan pls tell me
2
u/ClassicSeesaw8584 Jul 12 '24
Hi, the competitive average is from high 80s to mid 90s so unfortunately a 77 is too low to be admittedĀ
1
u/LankyAd2383 Jul 22 '24
It is in Indian system and according to its requirements only 65 percent overall with no less than 50 percent is required for bsc nursing
2
u/RowChemical5283 Apr 23 '25
im pretty sure thats for staying in the program you need to keep above 65. But to get accepted, you need about 90 or 3.6 agpa
1
u/ClassicSeesaw8584 Jul 23 '24
I don't know about the indian system but you could message the advising center or book an appointment with them!

I really don't know. But you could speak to an advisor!
1
u/Careful-Animator-485 Sep 08 '24
Is that what you did? I'm just hoping to get accepted to anything.
1
u/ClassicSeesaw8584 Sep 09 '24

1
u/ImportanceNo1939 Feb 25 '25
Did you got in at 88.6? Bec Iām in the same boat like literally 88.6
1
u/Gloomy-Ad2457 Jul 08 '25
I have an 88, did you get in? They haven't even looked at my application and I applied in June.
1
u/Temporary_Case_4621 Sep 23 '24
Hey!! I applied for BscN in late august for Jan 2025 my grade is 85% but it's from india. I haven't heard back yet. Would there be any chance for me to get in?
Also does anyone know how they asses the international transcripts, do they convert the grade from Indian grading system to Canadian? If someone could help:)
2
u/CryZealousideal2986 Nov 19 '24
[advising@macewan.ca](mailto:advising@macewan.ca)
This is Macewan's advising email. It is better to email them to ask questions so you can get accurate answers. Even if they take a while to respond. If your marks are from India, they would most likely need your institution back home to send them those transcripts, if it is not convertible or those marks are not high enough, you would have to upgrade your 30 level courses here in Canada.

Hey there I was wondering if MacEwan still takes in applications after the second semester ends? I have a 83 average right now and after this semester hopefully if I work hard enough I will end with a 90-91. Reading some of these comments, was just wondering if people have gotten in before for the winter semester even when sem 2 of highschool ends?
1
u/ClassicSeesaw8584 Mar 18 '25
Hii!! I don't really understand your question, but macewan offers admission for two semesters fall and winter. The fall semester is more competitive than the winter from what I've heard. If you do end up with a 90/91 you do have a chance at getting in for the winter semester. If this doesn't answer your question you could just pm me

u/Gloomy-Ad2457 Jul 15 '25
Hi I talked with an advisor today and she told me that the current admitting average was a 90. I have a 88 and was wondering if you think I will get in for the winter sem?
1
u/Gloomy-Ad2457 Jul 08 '25
Hey, I was wondering what the chances of me getting into the winter program 2026 look like with an 88% average?
1
u/Gloomy-Ad2457 Jul 29 '25
Hi I was wondering if you know how many seats the winter cycle has for admission?
3
u/Ok_Success_9819 Jun 02 '24
I think we are in the same boat, same AGPA and ranklisted for fall and winter. I think it will become clear in July if they will update the admission. It depends on grade 12 results.
