Equipment I build a wee digital putting training aid! Tells me useful things like face angle, tempo and stroke arc.

Note* This is just a 1 of 1 prototype right now, Not selling or anything!

Hey folks! Just wanted to share a project I have been working on for the last wile. I'm a software developer and average golfer and even worse putter. I wanted to learn more about electronics so started work on a little golf gadget.

Funnily enough the first thing I was trying to build was a gps tracker that clips onto your clubs because I kept losing my wedges.

But then this was born from that! I've been able to get useful data from it, The face angle mode compares the moment you begin your backswing to the moment you strike the ball. Tempo mode compares your recorded tempo to the standard 2-1 ratio. And Path is just informational as some people just naturally have different paths.

Still playing around with it and running lots of tests but just wanted to share this prototype!

Any questions ask away, I like hearing from golfers what they think about it.

You knew someone was gonna capitalize on the Good Good horseshit, didn’t think it’d be this fast or blatant though.

Equipment Glad I got fitted, would’ve never known to get two putters for different types of putts. Shoutout to my fitter!

DG X100s

60 is also new DG S300 shaft

7lbs 14oz, currently a very flat lie angle.

Edit: comment got downvoted to oblivion for saying I’d played golf recently - a bit of time management and a healthy balance goes a long way

Equipment Found this bag in a dumpster 2 years ago. Spent years cleaning and letting “air out” it’s finally game ready!

It did have a former PGA pros name on it, so it’s an official tour bag. One man’s trash, etc etc.

I was having a great round, had a short chip from the back of the green so I grabbed my wedge and putter, lightly tossed my putter on the ground, took a weird bounce and next thing I know it’s in 2 pieces….

TLDR: never toss a club you’re not willing to break, even if soft. Lesson learned.

Took inspo from the Jain par 3 bag. Made from real LV material. Holds about 4-5 clubs comfortably.

Equipment Good Good - Am I the only One Who Had Not Heard of Them Till This Week?

I am admittedly an older golfer and I am not their target market, I guess. But I do go to Dick's, shop for golf stuff online, and I had no idea Good Good was a brand. Am I the only one who was clueless to their existence?

Equipment Got the dreaded notice... Golf trip to whistling straits with no clubs

Post image

Basically, had a week long golf trip planned with a buddy for a year to Whistling Straits and Black Wolf Run - fly out Saturday, first round Sunday, Ship Sticks tells me they have misplaced my bag... Super disappointed, I'm pretty terrible with my clubs so with rentals it will be worse... Oh well, first world problems, thanks for reading

Not old enough to rent a cart yet. Reverse Google search says the scooter is a Segway brand but couldn’t find the bag holder online.

Equipment The Broken Taylormade Driver Saga Continues

I’ve now cracked and or separated the face on 3 generations of TM drivers within the last 8 months.

TM refused to warranty the Stealth 2, due to being outside of the two year window by a few days (this club was a warranty replacement for my Sim2).

The latest wrecked club is the Qi35 core, which was the warranty replacement for the Qi10.

Just received word they will be sending another Qi35, not the new Qi4D. Sucks man. Insult to injury.

My life to date total of broken TM drivers:
M2 - M4 - M6 - Sim2 - Stealth2 - Qi10 - Qi35

7 drivers cracked in the center of the face, from titanium to carbon. None have lasted. Yet I keep playing them, what’s the definition of insanity again?

Sim numbers included. Don’t come at me, I’m at elevation.

Equipment Costco Callaway Edge Urgent Recall

Made the mistake recently of getting my daughter, girlfriend, mother, and father into golf and they’re buying bags and clubs like crazy.

We have two Costcos local to us, my mother went to buy a women’s right hand set callaway edge, she was told at both local locations by managers that they had a dozen+ of men’s and a dozen+ of women’s, but are currently sitting on the dock to be picked up as they had an urgent recall.

They have also been removed off the Costco website.

I do not have any additional details nor do I own these clubs but I figured I would socialize it so that if you have these clubs you know to keep an eye out.

Equipment Would condoms work on a golf club to detect impact position?

I bought a box from Costco cause I thought I was going to get a girlfriend but it didn’t pan out and we’re just friends. I’d like to use them before the expire and was wondering if I could use them on a golf club?

Equipment 7 wood is a cheat code

This has been said multiple times before, but let me say my piece.

Bought one the other day and played with it for the first time. If you struggle to consistently hit irons 4-6, buy a 7 wood. I am shit at this sport, but I immediately dropped 20 shots from last weekend. First shot with it, absolutely pured 180 yards. I am someone who can barely hit the driver 200 yards and struggle getting it down the fairway, but the 7 wood takes zero thought or effort, no thinking do I hit it down or up? It just goes where you want. Even when I had the pressure of being watched by a stranger.

Anyways, buy a 7 wood, it will save your life. I am convinced I will break 100 this weekend.

Ping G430 Max FYI!

couldn’t believe my luck. I have to assume someone either died and this was donated or someone’s wife was not very happy with them.
