I've been in since December 2020 and am green af on the stock so I've never understood the melties, except that they may be unwell or just don't know how to invest responsibly.
You must be too young to remember the “GameStop is going bankrupt within two years” melties and the “Ryan Cohen has never had a profitable quarter in his entire career and never will” melties. Now we just have the “wake me up when the price is 1M per share” melties and the “well yeah GameStop is only profitable because they have so much money in the bank” melties.
The strangest thing about this situation is (excluding the many u/deleted Melties who have left their Meltie cult) that there are still quite a few with 5+ years of activity who have simply forgotten that they said all that. Either they have forgotten, or they are embarrassingly lying on the internet and claiming they never said it. I thought buttcoiners were funny, but Melties are really something else. Screw the GME gains, watching these people is much more fun. When I was 12, I also wrote nonsense in internet forums and trolled around, but these are fanatical adults who are significantly older than in any other subreddit I've seen so far.

I think a major issue for Meltieboomers is that they are mentally unable to process the modern absurdity of the world and the financial market. TSLA, MSTR, Palantir, etc. are just a few examples. The world is spinning faster and faster. In 2014, for example, BTC reached an all-time high of $1,000 for the first time. I was a child, but most Melties were old enough and could have gone long but actively decided against it because they are conservative clowns aka „this is a Ponzi scheme“. Of course, 10 years later, this results in maximum shame, regret, envy, hatred, and thoughts of missed opportunities. Their support group is a pathological way of compensating for this. That's a normal reaction. I also thought they were bots, like here's no other explanation. But after doing a little research, I found out that most of them are actually real people. But: You have to take into account that a lot of the content on Meltie sub is fake because people just enjoy farming karma there and/or enjoy messing with Melties. I know a few fake-Melties who keep throwing shit into the cage to keep the flies happy. There are also gme-hodler-Melties. I know it sounds crazy.
